You need to have a SlimPort adapter

I apologize if this has been asked before but is the Passport able to use the physical keys to input numbers when calling someone like on the Q10? W=1, E=2, R=3, etc..

Also, is there a shortcut in a call for speaker phone?

    Thanks!

No, can't use the letters until the virtual keys are up.
Yes, there is an onscreen shortcut for the speaker while on a call.

Okay! This is a real question: I'm ordering the passport Saturday from Amazon or BlackBerry, depending on which site will have it back in stock, and I want to know if the phone being unlock off the connectivity and bands and stuff like that. I mean, if I insert a T-Mobile sim into it, would my phone still be 4g Compatible, or am I limited to 2g or something. This may sound like a dumb questions to you tech savy guys, but I only ask because my mother ordered an unlocked phone from the Internet. Her phone was only able to get 2g at most and her Google Play store would not work.

It'll be fine so long as you buy it from Amazon or BlackBerry. The problem your mother faced was likely due to buying a model of the phone built for overseas or perhaps buying a Verizon phone. You're good to go.

My understanding from various threads and info has been that the Passport is a one-model-fits-all phone for at least the GSM networks (not CDMA, like Verizon, of course). Now, if the overseas models (say European for example) may not be compatible with let's say the US networks and vice versa, we will be facing the same issues we have had with the various incompatible Q10 and Z10 models. That would be a shame, since I can not consider a phone fit-for-professionals if it may not work properly when you travel to another GSM network country!

I have a z30 and the sim in it seems to be larger than the opening in the passport. Is it a different type of sim than the z30?

The Passport needs a nano sim.

Z30 uses micro SIM and the Passport uses the nano SIM. There's DYI instructions on the web to cut down from micro SIM to nano SIM. Or you can buy one from your carrier.

I'm curious about the call quality and reception. Kevin has boasted in the most recent podcast how much better the passport can hang on to a signal than any other phone he has owned. Can anyone shed some light on this? I know the Passport has the Paratek antenna similar to the Z30 (although i think it is an improved design); but how much better? Has anyone done some real world testing?

This is pretty subjective, I find my reception overall better than Z30. Areas that died before on me will switch networks generally and get either 2G or 3G which is better than nothing. But you'll find those who say it is not as good.

Unfortunately any answer you get will be subjective. My answer would simply be: I can now get a signal in my kitchen when the previously I Couldn?t. Depends on carrier, location etc.

Has anyone used the Square with their passport yet? I am a small business owner and being able to take credit cards is a must. It works beautifully on my Z10, just curious if anyone out there has tried it on the BBPP yet.
