Just wondering if anyone is using a 128GB SD card on their Passport. If you are, could you give the make of the card and best options for formatting it. I've had issues in the past on my Z30 formatting (pictures not saving or when deleted staying on/ re-appearing also problems with music). Thanks for any suggestions.

There had to be an update to support 64 gig. I heard support was up to 128 now, but there might have to be an update to the OS to support it, just like there was for the 64 gig.

That 'update' that was needed for 64GB microSD cards was really an update/driver for SDXC, that should cover well up past a 128GB when those hit the market as well.

Just format the card in exFat and it works
Uses an 64GB initially and now an 128GB Sandisk, no probs. The 128GB card is way faster.

Only using a 64 here as it is sufficient for me but hopefully when I require 128 the price drops a little on the class 10 sandisk

    Hey Peeps simple question.

Installed a SanDisk Ultra 128GB microSDXC UHS-1 Card, and everything seems to work but whats up with display of "119GB Total Space"?

    Should it not be 128GB?

128 GB in decimal system is 119 GB in binary system.

    128 GB = 128 000 000 000 bytes
    = 125 000 000 kilo bytes (divide to 1024)
    = 122070.3125 mega bytes (divide to 1024)
    = 119.20928955078125 giga bytes (divide to 1024)
    =119 GB.

    That is it.

    PS: 1024 = 2 ^ 10

I bought the one from Best Buy, this one. Put it in straight out of the pack, phone downloaded driver, all seemed fine.

Enabled usb mass storage and copied a bunch of music. Took a while so the phone locked. When I came back I couldn't unlock the phone. The enter device password box and number keys wouldn't come up. I freaked out a little. Tried a hard reset, same thing. Noticed the area around where the sd card is was damn hot. Turned off the phone and pulled sim and sd card. Back to normal. Guessing a bad card. And now sometimes I'm having the lock screen problem without the card.

Is there an approved list of cards somewhere for this phone?

There's a big sale currently going on Amazon for Sandisk memory cards... best buy will price match if you are shopping locally instead.

IMHO maybe it shouldn't matter what size the phone supports as long as the reader is SDXC compliant and the software is exFAT compatible. Just my two cents

I'm another SanDisk 128GB MicroSD owner. Just got it this week. Seems to work great. It took quite a while to encrypt, though. (50GB of music and 10+GB of photos will do that, though.

$140 at Canada Computers was a bit much but I managed to find an open box version, which brought the price down a bit.

How did you make that little blackberry symbol?

I would love a 128 gb card...to much jack. I used a. 64 gb San disk with no problems.

Just out of curiosity why would 128 be any different then using a 64 gb?
