You may just be able to submit the request through ATT's website for the unlock code. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Not if you mention that you know about the law that makes it illegal to refused to unlock any phone. I was able to get my unlock code for free for my second ATT PP this way direct through ATT. Took 15 minutes.

I'm pretty sure at&t works the same as tmobile. Which means you have to have the phone activated on there services for 90 days then they can unlock the phone.

I will post a tutorial about how to get ur PP unlocked by ATT for free. It only works if you are not an ATT customer though and you do not need to wait 90 days.

Please do, cause I have been waiting since last tuesday to get unlock code from re-seller and they are having difficulty getting me one. Even though I activated it by using on of my co-worker simcard twice. Made couple of calls and SMS which worked fine. I am just loosing hope on it already.

Did you submit a request for the unlock code on ATT's website? And where/how did you get the PP?

I bought it from eBay brand new with sealed. I couldn't do it online because it was keep giving the error code that IMEI not found so I called them yesterday and they took the information from me and haven't gotten anything yet. The re-seller said I will have it by later tonight with second time trying. I don't think they will get it. I will have to send it back tomorrow so I can get refund otherwise they won't take it back. I have been waiting since last tuesday. Really pissed off. Sigh.

Did you try posting to the ATT customer service forum? Search the error code you get from the online site and it'll take you there.

Yes it said the same thing about contacting them directly and that what exactly I did on the phone with them yesterday. They took all my information and phone information and nothing yet. You said you had it in 15 minutes. How did you managed to get it?

There were two names listed in the ATT mobility forum (both customer service). I registered on the site and messaged both of them with my information. I received an email within 15 with my unlock code.

Thanks I saw that thread on AT&T forum. Just got off over the phone with them. They said that the request have been approved and I will have it in email by tomorrow. Hopefully, I get it soon so I don't have to send it back and loose 20% on restocking fees. And which carrier are you using it with?

T-Mobile. I've had no issues with it and it is noticeably faster and with better reception than I've had with the IPhone 6+.

Yay! Let's hope I get it sooner than the re-seller so I can get refund from them. Lol!!

Just get the passport and get an unlocking service to do it. Takes 24-48 hours and you are done.

Don't waste your time with an att sim. Waste of money.

I've unlocked 3 this way. Works great.

Hi Wasimraza, I sent you a PM. Can you outline the details here for everyone who is going through this process? I'm hoping to get my AT&T passport soon and was hoping you can provide some more information on what specifically you needed to do. Is there a link I need to access? Can you let us know the phone number of who you had to call and whether you needed to escalate to a higher level? Any tips you can provide would be appreciated.
