Blackberry Passport
Reload the OS? I don't buy a new car when the windshield washer fluid runs out...

I think holding off for a year to do so would be better for the wallet. Unless you're planning on using it. On the other hand, it does help BlackBerry reach the 5m mark they're aiming for.
I'm pretty sure the Passport 2 will be Android-based. We already know the hardware can run Android quite well.
Red Passports are sold out on ShopBB,not to mention being limited editions as well......
If you have a Passport under contract on ATT,shouldn't they provide insurance options for the Passport?
I applaud your approach,I'm planning on joining the exodus once my Samsung devices are paid off. I'll likely run the tag team of classic/passport as well.
No , I love the wireless charging so much I am not getting a SE and I expect to use the Passport well into or beyond 18 months.
I still fun to watch what BB is doing but since I such a satisfied customer all of this this has gotten a lot less exciting for me. I have learned to use it and am satisfied with how I am doing it, I cant ask for more other than more BB10 hardware.
That's Probably the million dollar question. I honestly believe how the BB faithful spend there money on these new BB devices will determine the outcome. The Priv has opened the door for BB10 to eventually become extinct,I say that because this new "Vienna" BB looks like a larger more refined BB Classic. If BB faithful purchase new BB devices and become more receptive to the Android addition it may be the best solution for BB. I personally would keep my eye on what happens to the Passport,it was clearly a success and there's a large number of Passport faithful who are anxiously awaiting the progression of the device. The SE is likely the final colorway of the BB10 Passport, being that it fixed many issues of the OG and apparently having run it course on the current OS,being that BB is now releasing a bevy of Android phones. If you see a more refined BB Passport next year with the Android OS,I think BB10 days are numbered.....
Why look at it that way? BB10 is perfect for me. I cant list one single want for 10.3. Its such a non issue for me I feel funny letting anyone know about it.
It's an app thing for me,wasn't a fan of the 3rd party apps.
I'd prefer access to the apps available on other Android devices.
I'm sure BB examined that option, and contractually it wasn't agreed upon
which brought forth the Priv and now the Vienna.....
Probably about 9 months until the final BB10 update.
Although I really like my Passport, I will not consider buying one as a backup since technology keeps improving at a quick pace. The device will be quite outdated by the time I consider a replacement which is probably not for another 2 years.
Perhaps because he could. He's rich that way, yeah.
I did that with passport and classic and q10.
Have some of each in stock :)
Regards
I guess, the only thing you need to back-up with a dying OS is the battery since there will be no expectation in OS improvement and bugs fixing... so, I believe, it is more logical to buy a new battery as back-up and learn how to detach the old battery and install new battery in our Passport...

I see no reason too... if taken care of and not dropped, phones can last a decade... after that much time, i will get a new one....
Probably will...
on the road with my BlackBerry
yes, I have the original black passport and would miss it when it eventually fails, so i might buy a silver edition passport while they are still available and price is coming down, there is nothing to replace the passport.
I plan on buying a SE brand new as a backup! Best BlackBerry iv'e ever used!

I have an OG and Im planning on buying a SE around May, hopefully they will still be available and the price has come down a bit...
Funny I was just thinking about getting a second one...

Same here.
I am happy with the OG black PP. I have no planning on buying a spare PP as a back up. Nowadays phone and it's OS change very quickly. I will use my PP carefully and make sure it doesn't dropped (hopefully). I like the BB10 but I do use some of the Android apps not in my PP but with my OnePlus One. I am planning to buy Priv as my second phone and of coz PP is my main phone. For call, SMS, email, Whatsapp, CB on PP strictly no android apps coz it will drain my battery. Camscanner, FB, iflix, camera and video at my Android OS. I like this combination.
