Had my passport since Nov last year. Focus was perfect. Update 10.3.1 comes out and now it won't focus worth a crap on anything close up. Even pictures take from afar are slightly blurry. Any help?

Is the 10.3.2 update not available for you yet? Because you should be on that as the camera settings were a key focus for the 10.3.2 update. If it's not available, you should consider installing it manually.

Try holding the on screen shutter button down until focus is achieved, then let go to take the picture.

This ^^ It has made the camera so much better for me using this. Not nearly as many blurry shots.

    Is that a 10.3.2 feature?

Your best bet is to learn about installing leaks as you will improve alot of issues and bug fixes. Remember to back up before attempting and always read the instructions until you understand them and jump in! You will be glad you did! We are always here to answer questions

If it doesn't get better, your Auto Focus might be broken.

That happened to my red Passport, it just stopped focusing and all my pics were blurry. It wasn't dropped or anything, it just didn't work anymore so BlackBerry did an exchange since all our Passports are under warranty.

    Wow, thanks!
    This actually helped a lot.
My Blackberrys keep going mental to refocus just before I go to take the shot.
    Thanks again!

Tap anywhere on the screen and the camera focuses on that area. The same shot can offer amazingly different results.

Agree with Bla1ze on this one, 10.3.2 leak has improved the camera a LOT. Shutter time reduced dramatically, auto focus works way better as well.

Unless the camera is actually broken. Autofocus was completely gone for me, OS reloads not fixing it. New one working perfectly

Lucky for you!!! Mine is not because I live outside the US and canada. D*mn. I don't think, blaze, 10.3.2 update will repair our problem. I think it is a hardware issue and the autofocus is jerky when capturing photos especially business cards. If we upgrade to 10.3.2, and does not repair our phone our warranty will be remove because we installed a leaked OS and we cannot downgrade.

Btw, out warranty here in the Philippines is labor only so the spare parts--camera module and keyboard I will pay for it.

I demanded to my seller to return to US their supplier for exchange of my device and I will pay the freight cost.

Too bad! We do not have BlackBerry office here in our country.

Have you tried my tip in post#3? Try it on a business card now.

    Hi everyone,

I have the same auto-focus problem on my Passport and I'm running the 10.3.2 version of the software. I bought it in October directly from the US Blackberry website. How can I get a replacement for my product? Whom should I contact?

    Thank you for your help.

    I'm having the same problem.

Let me know how you proceeded. I am going to call on them tomorrow to see what they say.

    Cheers!

You doing better than most mine won't focus on anything anymore, I have to give it many hard bumps before anything happens, called a poor connection, a hot hair dryer helped for a short time but it's back to the same old trick, I keep a Samsung flat camera handy that helps at work. I must say an amazing phone turned into a poor one by a much used part that many people have problems with, all their phone cameras were poor anyway, I just hate Samsung phones their operations are weak BlackBerry send and receive everything in a flash!

I too have had this pesky camera focus problem. I tried all the workarounds discussed with no improvement so I removed the camera from a scrap black passport I have and installed it in my silver edition and problem solved, hooray! In my opinion it is hardware, not software.

Does the rear camera on the black Passport fit in the Silver Edition? My Passport Silver Edition rear camera will not focus, and the images are blurry. I also have a black one, should I swap cameras? Will it work? Thanks.
