Still have the passport in my cart with coupon code, I don't game much, and I don't use whatsapp. The app I do care for is called wechat. Any passport owner out there could you please test the android apk for me? If it works 100%, I'm onboard. Thanks

thanks, guess I'm getting one after all. I have one last question before pulling the trigger. I have two company apps that I have to have in apk file? Would I be aple to install them thru sideload? I know one of them worked on my old z10, and another does not work because it required adobe air. Is adobe air also available to install on the passport?

    WeChat - BlackBerry World

Check again... (its not as official as you think lol)

Because it not made by Tencent for blackberry but in fact made/converted by a 3rd party... known as 'WeChat International Pte. Ltd'

This is why its far behind...... Tencent really need to get there sh!t together and update it to 5.4+ Versions.

But Tencent make QQ for blackberry (official) but they're tooo damn lazy to focus on BB Wechat 0_o

Just saw that. The only 3 apps I use on a daily basis are wechat, two of my company apps. Guess BB is still a no go for me.

as long as the company apps are not using Google play services, they will run nicely on the Passport. 10.3.1 won't have support of adobe air anymore..... but android apks didn't use that format anyway as far as I remember...
So far: All android apps are running great, as long as Google play services are not involved...

This particular app required adobe air in order for it to work...It's a company app....I use it for work, can't do without it when I'm in London, in Shanghai, in Paris. perhaps there an adobe air apk flowing around somewhere?

Adobe air is currently supported in BlackBerry 10.3. In future releases i.e after 10.3 version, Adobe Air support will be dropped. All Adobe Air apps will stop working. You may request your company developer to convert the Adobe Air app to Android apk using captive runtime for Android. It won't take the developer more than a few minutes. This way you may run apk which requires Adobe Air.

As mentioned before: use Snap for your android needs. Very easy to sideload.

Regarding Adobe air: it is gone for good

    Sorry about that

I think the OP is talking about APK which requires Adobe Air to run not BAR created using Adobe Air. But yes, BB10 Air support to run BAR files will be phased out after 10.3.

just search ?? in Google and you will find the direct download link(s). The android version of wechat is working on my Q10, I don't see why it won't work on the passport.

You know what, the first Android app I installed during my hands-on evaluation in a Telus store was Wechat, the 2nd was Clash of Clans...

It works great on Passport and it's way faster than Z30 when you scroll it.

And this is why Wechat on BB is late.... in features... it's not directly made by Tencent themselves.. (just cannot imagine why?) - what is the problem.

Still Wechat on BB10 and BB7 works fine. (just lacks the latest features)
