Can you also swap the lower piece, with the AT&T logo? wonder what that would look like or keeping the 4th row the same as the body?

Over at the Q5 forum, the modding looks real good with all the colour combos and the individually spaced keys.

Curious to see the key swapping on the PP...

The whole KB assembly is one piece, the bottom chin is a plastic sticker. You can change the bottom sticker but not the last row of KB.

Yea and when someone knocks it off a desk while it's connected to a computer and it swings by the usb cord into a stipple wall, like mine did yesterday, there'll be no damage. I don't get it, isn't that the point of any protective case?

I used to be overprotective of my BlackBerries, but after 6 or 7 of them, I found that my upgrading cycles are always shorter than life cycle of my berries, even taking into the account of the beatings they suffer from my slippery figures. Yeah I read so many horror stories here in CB, but the chance of that happening seems to be lower than those stories made out to be.

The Passports are pretty damn tough, there's some amazing videos of them taking a beating, being thrown repeatedly on asphalt, with little to no damage happening. Using your experience yesterday, I think the microUSB port would potentially be damaged via Tarzan action before the actual phone itself would.

It's like covering your couch in plastic, for the off chance that you spill some wine on it; could happen but I'd rather enjoy the couch.

Just my opinion, I used to protect all my phones with cases but stopped a few years ago. I had to be more aware and careful with my devices at first, but after awhile you adapt. Knock on wood, I haven't damage a device yet.

Agreed. The frame is strong (even just holding the part by itself) and I like the look and feel of the device as intended so I've never had a case on it.

Unfortunately I did kind of modify my internal water damage indicators from white to red but even after salt, water, other chemical (something I shouldn't have used to clean it with but learned the hard way as it ate the internal layers of the screen ) and physical harm, it's still working good! They are tough, solid devices and I like that they are quite serviceable.

I was planning to do some proper customizing as parts become available but was also considering some type of clear case later for extra insurance since I've been so unlucky / lucky that it still at least works. .
