I've noticed some new holsters showing up on Amazon so I may be trying one or two soon. You're gonna love this phone, communication in the hub is outstanding and browsing is very fast with no lag.

Another railroad employee here, using the Passport since roughly six weeks now. I kept using the OEM flip case and just received my Noreve leather case for additional protection. I also use a screen protector (OEM, one of the few which has a great fit!), however I am waiting for a decent tempered glass one to be released.

So far I like the Passport for my job, the only downside is actually the size. I don't always have both hands free, handling the PP then becomes quite uncomfortable. One of the reasons I am actually tempted in either getting the Classic or returning to my Q10. Other than that, the Passport truly is a great device!

T - if you can get away with wearing a BT earpiece (or the BB Premium headphones with volume up/down plus the answer/mute key) take advantage of the voice controls. It takes some getting used to, takes some effort to learn to be patient for the way Assistant responds (when trying to "call John Doe on mobile" for example - might return 2 or 3 or more names if looking at the screen, but Assistant will read the choices off to you and you can then narrow the search to "the first one" or "John Doe") , but you can really accomplish a lot without ever needing to pull your phone out of your pocket.

Try it now - "read my last incoming text message" - it only reads a portion if the message is longer. Prompts you to reply if you'd like, allows you to mark as unread (I always do that just in case the message is longer so I can look at it later), other options. Really spend some time on it ("what time is it?") and you'll uncover more than you expected or have heard about.

BlackBerry Assistant makes fer a great Blue Collar Sec-ur-turry!

The second pic is the one I ordered. Turtleback. But the vertical one.
I saw and kinda liked the first pic one but I went the Turtleback because I want my phone to be in a "pocket".
So the Seideo one looked very nice too.

i'm an industrial electrician. my first blackberry was the pearl. i have had only blackberrys since then. i have never bought a case of any kind. the phone stays in my front pocket of my bib overalls. never had a problem except for the old trackballs getting dirty. have had the passport for a month now and treat it the same as all other blackberrys. they are built tough.

Just ordered the Seidio case today and will keep you updated on how it is. I have always been a holster guy for easy access without having to worry about the phone falling out on the pocket.

I can do all my invoicing on here, leave the computer at home.

    Still deciding on a case....

Really cool. Way back when I bought a actual "contractor" calculator and was around $100. Wound up giving it to a salesperson. Anyway when I saw your post I checked it out and thought it was perfect but for $20 and I'm on the down swing these days I passed. But free!!?? Perfect! Would have paid $10 for it.

Thanx again for the heads up, much appreciated.

Yea I have actual calculator too but not used for long time since my previous iPhone with BuildersHelper app.

This Buildcalc app is amazing and better than others. You'll like it more as you use it more. I like the help function on the all keys. It's very well designed app especially for our Passport!!

I'm happy to hear you liked it! I love sharing good things!

    Happy New Year!

Industrial Mechanic/Millwright and I work in a shop with high cast iron dust in the air. The Passport stays in my chest pocket of my coveralls most of the day. Have blown all the speakers on all the BlackBerries I've owned since the 9900. That includes the Z10 and the Z30. Just a matter of time till this one is blown as well. But as far as using it for my job, it's great. Does everything I need. The USB on the go is probably the sweetest feature. As my Pruftecknic alignment equipment provides a PDF file, I can give that report directly to my client without having to boot up th PC. Great phone as well. Really clear and easy to use in a shop and industrial environments.

That iron dust is going to kill your speakers (magnets), and probably your lungs as well....
