Hi all

I'm a Q10 owner considering getting the Passport (when it stops going out of stock for at least a whole hour..sigh), however:

For those of you who use Android apps on your Q10, you might have noticed that some are impossible to use because the apps aren't optimized for a square display, thus cutting off parts of the screen along with any buttons that reside within. I have a few apps that I wanted to use, but can't, because I can't even see the LOG IN button!!

Is there a way to scroll Android apps on the Q10? What about on the Passport?

I would hate to switch over to the Passport only to find that it suffers from the same issue.. I hear there's a "zoom" feature on the Passport, but is that practical?

I'm keen to hear thoughts on this as well, I have a Q10 which I love but I have the same frustrations with certain apps. I'm really keen on the passport but if it doesn't offer more visibility then it may not be worth it.... example below for Eurosport. Would the pp just show the same view but much bigger, or would it rescale?

This question can be answered on a case to case basis. Apps should be coded on a % of the screen. If the app is coded well then there should be no problem. Most of the apps and even games I have installed seem to work well in my passport.

The only problem I encountered is the very first page of Flipboard. But once you flipped it it's ok already.

My viber is also ok. Even the calls.

What apps are you looking to install?

Here's my 2cents. It looks fine on the passport, some look better and some neeed zooming out and you get more real estate. I came from Iphone5s and I'm happy with this screen.

So far the only app I have had problem with is Flipboard. The first screen is all scrunched up to one side.

All the other apps I have loaded through Snap have been perfect. They run a lot smoother and faster on the Passport too!

Am running 10.3.0.908 version. There is no update available yet for 10.3.1. Is that a beta release?

I should also point out that I'm running the leaked OS 10.3.0.1418, clean install. 10.3.1 was too buggy for me on the Q10.

So 10.3.1 gives you the ability to change the appearance on Android apps? Can you elaborate on this more please? Is it per-app, or a global setting? Does it solve this whole issue? Thanks!!

just to add on that .. 2 android games with problems on BlackBerry Passport:

1 - Clash of Clans (playable but you just can't pass the tutorial because of the random resize on one of the game screens)
2 - Football Manager Handheld 2014 (stuck on the SEGA logo, I even tried FMH2013 and its the same issue)

Thanks. That fixed my Flipboard. So now all my apps look great on the square screen.

Btw, NBA Gametime works well too.

A few of the android apps I use a lot look much better zoomed out. I actually really like the option. Wordpress and Feedly are two that I use and they just look really good zoomed out
