Hi guys,

I've a Z30. I mostly use native apps but I also use just a few android apps.

Sky+ remote app
Sony SideView tv remote app
Songsterr
Anki
Human Japanese
JA Sensei

Due to the square screen I wonder does any one know do these apps run ok? Generally speaking have people found issues with android apps on the big odd sized passport screen?

I am using Passport coming from Z30 too. Not familiar with those apps you are asking but I can say that Passport blows Z30 away in any aspect. They run the same OS, so apps that work on Z30 will do the same in Passport, only faster

Cool thanks. I figure the apps will run but specifically I guess I was wondering would the screen ratio screw with them. I've heard some people say some apps worked but had display issues.
Even with BlackBerry 10 issues and lack of support I still so want a Passport

That is correct. The screen ratio can make some apps unusable.

But you can make any android app think it's running on a portrait phone by swiping down when it is open. There are three choices so most are able to work in one mode or another.

Sky+ app works fine, the only thing it won't do is enable you to display photos on your TV. It connects to your Sky box so you can see the recorded shows but photos on your phone won't display. Not a major issue to be honest.

Hey that's great news. Not worried about the photo thing just recording remotely and using it as a remote when my kids lose the physical one is handy. Plus those remotes just don't last. I've taken apart and cleaned mine a few times. It's on its way out
