Can someone list options for getting Android apps other than Amazon store. I'd prefer not to use snap for security reasons.

I had an app store called mobogenie for a while, but I just installed Snap recently. What is the security concern? Should I be worried?

Security reasons? Snap is a native Google Play Store client- that's about as safe as it gets for Android.

Of course you can just use Google Play Store directly:

Now that Cobalt has given us the original, there is no need for Snap anymore. Now we can purchase apps, make in-app purchases, and download obb files.

    Use Google Play or Mobogenie.

    http://www.mobogenie.com/

Click on the download for Android link on the homepage to install.

You said you had security concerns. Only Snap and Google Play Store download directly from Google. The others are potentially more dangerous.

I also mentioned already that Cobalt's modified Google Play Store allows purchases, in-app purchases, and obb file downloads. Books, music, and movies too.

Ummm, ya. Cobalt's Google Play Store is the actual Google Play Store.

It's not a solution for anyone who does not want to register their device with Google and run Google services on their BlackBerry all the time.

1Mobile Market is easier to install and doesn't require logging into anything just to download apps. I use it download Netflix in a few seconds.
