Hello everyone. I might be looking into upgrading my z10 to a Passport. I simply love the BlackBerry 10 OS and feel it is about time to upgrade from my z10. One problem I found with my z10 is how many of the Android apps I downloaded from the Google Snap are often buggy and slow. Does anyone have any experience with upgrading to a Passport? Do you find the android apps run quicker and smoother on the PassPort? Thanks for your answers.

because the passport has better specs, android apps might run faster than on your z10, but will not run as fast as you might wish because android apps are not BB10 os native apps. if you use android apps alot the best option is still a priv.

I only have a couple of dozen, or so, Android apps on my Passport and most of them run reliably and at an acceptable speed. I do have Cobalts Play Store work around installed, Thank You Cobalt for your work on that.

The Starbucks and GasBuddy apps work most of the time but are both prone to crashing. The order from the app function in the Starbucks app, which is in Beta, has never worked for me.

Unfortunately Google has gotten wise to Cobalt's work, contacted him, and now Google Maps integration in Android apps have been removed. The usefulness of some Android apps on BB10 has just been reduced.

I switched from a Z10 to the AT&T Passport about two weeks ago. The Android apps I run definitely run faster on the Passport. Overall it is a good upgrade. I use Flightview Free often, KIK, Line, (calling doesn't work in the newest version of Line though.) Rumikub, Netflix, and PNC Mobile. All work well and faster than on the Z10. I really loved the Z10. I wish they would have made an upgraded Z10 instead of the Leap. I would have bought that fictitious device as soon as it came out.

The Gasbuddy app is in BBW (maybe an android port?) and it works fine for me on my Passport.

There is no question that android apps work better on the Passport vs z10. I have both devices and although I don't use many android apps, the Passport runs all of mine fairly well. There is some lag when starting, compared to a newer Android device, but generally speaking, quite acceptable (for me,anyway).

I'm not talking about the difference between q10 or z10 with passport, i'm talking compared with a normal android phone

Thank you everyone for your input. It seems as if the android apps do run faster on the Passport.

It is a night and day difference really. Some of the games will play better on the z10 because of the screen ratio difference. But overall the passport is 10x better at running Android apps.

Actually some Android apps run faster on Passport than on a mid spec Android smartphones.

Side by side with some of my friends' average phones, Passport wins on some apps but anyway differences are sometimes acceptable even with top spec Samsungs...

I mainly use Pandora, kindle, iheartradio, and Amazon. They run fine although kindle and Amazon take a while to load.

Netflix runs well but again, it takes awhile to load.

My sister plays with Candy Crush on her Z30, she told me it's acceptable but she never update the original .apk
