Having owned the Priv I didn't like above mentioned items.

Root would be handy the day that BlackBerry stops supporting their android devices. Remember, the company does have a habit of doing this to their products. When they give up on patching future android updates for the Priv, then the Priv owners will be in our boat. However, if you could root the device you could flash it with a custom ROM etc...
BlackBerry CEO John Chen was brought in to make the companies balance sheet look more attractive for the eventual sale of the company. In business terms, it makes a lot of sense...

I use root so I can utilize adblock on browser/chrome, xposed framework, and set up automation profiles through Tasker.
Those 3 things are absolutely necessary for me. I haven't found a non-root adblock solution I like, and the other two allow my customization for glaring oversights that always happen on each device.
I really do miss my Passport and actually prefer its form factor, build, AND OS.
I might come back to it eventually, I keep picking it up to play with it. I really wish (for those of us that want it), we could get an updated runtime.
There is two basics things that BlackBerry Passport does better than any other phones and os call quality and email, those are my main two tasks during my work day hence I gave up seven years of carefully acquired IOS apps (90 percent of them unproductive) and decided firmly that I was going to run my business efficiently with Passport, two months in and no intention of going back to IOS.

I guess I have to look at android just for the transflo app
Anytime you use the term, "Google," and reference why you needs some feature it provides, you may as well have an Android, so your switch back to Android was warranted. To want a phone like the Passport to have it, when others want and OS like BB10 because it doesn't have google, is exactly why you shouldn't choose BB10.
Play Nice, Be Helpful, and have Respect! This means keep the language clean, keep your posts polite, and don’t get into arguments over dumb things. If somebody responds to a thread you posted in poor fashion, ignore it, and the moderation team will quickly clean it up (you can always message or email a moderator at any time if you observe anything that is in poor taste/against the rules). Think back to what your parentals and teachers used to lecture - if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.
Always remember that we are all unique and at different levels here - some of us are experienced BlackBerry users and forum junkies, while others are just starting out. If you’re on the experienced side, have patience for those just joining in on the fun and be helpful. With a little patience and a little help they won’t be newbies for long. Also remember that it is our differences that keeps this place interesting. If everyone was from the same place and at the same experience level it would be boring. This is a worldwide community united by a common interest - our love, or addiction as some would call it, for the BlackBerry!
I use transflo + on my G2 and it works wonders, don't get me wrong I can get my Passport to do a lot of the things I need it to do, maps, truckers path and transflo are the only things I can't get them to work, I use transflo + but gives me a ton of prompts for google services but it works, just PIA to have to click ok after every pic or screen change
I also have a passport and it is too bad that transflo and such are not working well on this phone.
If the android passport comes out are you getting it?
Where I work all the company is using android phone (big one) like 5.7" . To me android is too glitchy. I have tried their LG G4 and gave it back the same day. Instead I have put their Sim card in my Z30. Maybe I should get back on their phone just to get use to it.
BB10 will soon Obsolete for sure.... we needs App that works.... Apps for my daily usage which have nothing to do with fashion or what's the social is telling me. If BB10 is going to survive, they better have the basic Apps such:
Line -works only 90%
Bloomberg
Banking Apps
Stocking Trading App
These apps for daily basic Apps that BB10 cannot support...

If it's does come out I most certainly will, or if anyone can get these apps to work I would much rather stay with this one :). I liked the G4 with the smart case on it, I had Tmobile and I used an app to watch unlimited amount of movies, unfortunately since I left Tmobile they refuse to unlock my phone even though I paid it in cash, and I don't owe them anything
