    Hi,

Please see my Screenshot. I have switched on all of these options but still the passport won't go mute. What am I doing wrong?

It only mutes an incoming call as you are receiving it. It doesn't mute everything. At least that's my understanding, I haven't had the occasion to test it out.

This is correct. If the phone is sitting on a table and it rings when you pick it up off the table the ringer will mute itself.

Well, in my case the calls are not muted but the regular ringtone is being played.

Doesn't it only mute when you turn the phone over so that it is face down?

Run bbve to do a diagnostic of your sensors.
Same issue with me. Sensors were not working after running the test. Did a hard reset and they now work. Advanced interactions now work too.

My mistake was I restored my z30 backup to the passport. That may have caused some issues. I'm going to do a manual setup this weekend after wiping the device.

What do you mean with hard reset?

I have run the tests and it still does not work.

Hold down both volume up and down buttons until the blue loading squircle shows.

Tried but to no avail. I have no idea why it won't work.

If you purchased or upgraded from your carrier return it and get another unit.
If it was purchased online request a refund. If paid by a credit card or PayPal there's buyer protection.

I exchanged my passport within the first week because dark theme wasn't working in contacts and sensors were working off and on. My carrier had no problem in exchanging the unit.

I surely do not think it is a hardware defect. Has to be some software issue.

The option is meant differently imho. Keeping it face down makes the phone silent.

If you have the "flip to mute" advanced interaction enabled or Hub++ installed and enabled in that app, yes, that's how it works

When you go to the advanced interactions settings page there is a learn more link, select that and it will explain in detail with some pictures

They work by using the gyroscope/accelerometer in your BlackBerry. It tracks based on how the phone rotates/flips.

Thanks. Obviously I had misunderstood this feature. I thought you could mute your phone by putting it face down. But it is only meant for incoming calls.

To be honest I like my idea more. When you are in a restaurant or meeting and you don't want to have the device in your pocket you can put it on the table and remains muted as long as you flip it.
