I'm getting close to my upgrade date with 3 and I was wondering about the BlackBerry Passport's screen and the active frames.

I've seen the active frames appear in different sizes on the BlackBerry Passport in various pictures, my question is, what changes the size of the active frames?

The number of active frames open. Once 7 or 8 are open...5 and 6 shrink to accommodate.

If you open more programs than will fit on the screen at the standard size, the last couple appear half-sized, I believe. Other than that, they are the same...

    Unless I'm wrong, of course!

When you open 6 frames they are all the same size (big ones). Once you open the 7th, the frames on the bottom right corner shrink to 2 small frames and once you open the 8th frame the bottom middle frame also shrinks to 2 small frames.

So in the end you'll have 4 big frames and 4 small frames.

You can also rearrange the frames in the order you desire. However, I find it only useful if you don't ever use more than 8 apps. Otherwise, the 9th, 10th, 11th app will push the arranged order out of whack again.

    Another tip:

The larger active frames are pinned and will not shut down when you open new apps. The new apps will only shut down the smaller active frames.

As far as I know you can't have more than 8 apps open. If you do, the 9th app will close one of the open apps on the smaller frames...

The 9th app closes the 4th last app that was accessed, or the bottom right one. The first 4 apps have priority and usually don't get closed out.
