Hello,
When I upgraded from Q10 to Passport; I used blackberry Link to back up and restore my data. (Which I believe is the reason behind this disturbing message that keeps popping up every now and then, saying: you need to update your account password for external account).

When I googled it, some fellas suggested waiting for the next OS update; but then again, the problem remained still, even after updating 10.3 to 10.3.1.

How do I stop these messages once and for all?

don't restore. then it wont ask for that

On your phone go into: Settings>accounts, then one by one you're gonna have to delete your external accounts (facebook, twitter, etc) and set them up again. It's the only way :/

There seems to be no fix. My Passport has done that same thing for a non existing "Blaq" account since day one and continues to do so. Blackberry support was worthless in resolving the problem as well was everything I have tried. I'm hoping that some update will fix the issue.

Every time you restore you have to update your accounts because it doesn't store email passwords. Update your accounts or delete them the your problem is solved.

Conite is right. Accounts Cleaner will fix it. But the AppWorld placeholder was just replaced by the real app this morning. It may take a search to find it.

So I have long deleted my Blaq account, re installed it and then removed it again but still get damn false notifications. That link for account cleanup says its not availble for my device (Passport). What gives?

How is that even possible? Is your OS up to date?
If not, try updating it and then give it another try.

If that didn't work too. You will be left with one painful solution, and that would be erasing the phone and transferring your data without using backups and all.

Glad I seen this thread. Had the same issue with Blaq. Every morning I received an account notification for Blaq. Downloaded Accounts Cleaner and now I'm good to go. No more annoying notifications.

Thanks for mentioning this app. I have been bugged by this issue since I loaded 10.3.1.2267. I had three accounts coming up including one email account that I had already deleted from the phone.
I would get the Account Info Needed messages about once a day, at random times, so I have no idea what triggered the messages coming in.
If this works as advertised, I'll certainly be giving the developer a great review on BBW.

Thanks to the developer for making this great little app. I actually was about to try backing up and selectively restoring, but then came across this post... much better!
