6 Things I Can Do With My Passport That I Can't Do With My Priv
- 1. I can connect an Ethernet adapter being able to improve quality of calls through Apps such as Magic Jack and others for free. In fact I am no longer paying a fixed monthly rate thanks to this feature. Among other uses from the advantages of Ethernet over wifi, especially where the connection is not that great (like my office).
2. I can beam pictures and files that are not too heavy to ANY NFC powered device. This is amazingly convenient, and avoids the hassle of asking phone numbers or WhatsApp accounts to people you are not too close with (customers, investors of the company, a partner representative, etc.) in meetings and other encounters. Furthermore you don't have to rely on a wireless connection.
3. I can switch between applications without the loss of precious seconds when on Android apps decide to randomly reboot. This is really amazing about BB10.
4. I can reply to messages while watching or listening to YouTube videos without stopping the video. This is extremely convenient for a person who watches a lot of videos for tutorials, news, sports, etc., and also keeps instant messaging as a primary way of communication.
5. I can remotely access my computer and keep the best view in the same direction of the physical keyboard, which happens to be the most productive way to get the task done. On the Priv I either have to use the virtual keyboard horizontally, which covers half of the view, or see only a small portion of my computer's screen vertically. Furthermore, on the Priv no numbers can be recognized from the physical keyboard, so I have to turn the phone sideways and switch, which happens to be very unproductive.
6. I can chat and send pictures on BBM without relying on wifi or data (only with T-Mobile as far as I am concerned). I keep BBM as my primary way of communication with my closest ones (yes, I had them download it, and they ended up loving it btw). I am saving money on phone bills and only get weekly as data packages that I don't necessarily renew once they expire. In fact I can be several days without data and don't miss it. I never have to worry about whether or not my data is active, my BBM account will be there for me!
I could also mention things that I can do with my Priv that I can't do with my Passport (mostly media/streaming related), that's why I have and love both! However I find it more necessary on my daily tasks the abilities that the Passport can provide me that the Priv can't.
What can your BB10 devices do that Android devices can't?
Long live Passport. Long live BB10.

2.priv has nfc too
3.multitasking just fine on priv
4.lot of alternative browser or OG YouTube playing in the background
5.i don't use it I don't know
6. Impossible without WiFi or data

Well, only somewhat with 3 coz I have never multi-tasked between apps heavily on an Android yet, whereas with BB10 it just flies.. But with the 4th one, I am definitely going to miss that aspect when I switch to a BlackDroid phone. I mean sometimes I can go for seconds or even minutes without actually needing to 'watch' a video on YouTube but just listening to it, because of other tasks I may need to do on my Passport.

- Priv has NFC, but try to beam the Passport and tell me what happens. Multi-tasking on Android and BB10 is just not comparable. Why do you state it's impossible something that you've clearly not even tried? BBM indeed works with no data under T-Mobile's network.

- I tried connecting my WD 1 TB HD using micro USB OTG and it was able to access all my files flawlessly. And if you have Kalemsoft app from BBW (not free) you can watch your .vob, mkv, flv, mov, etc. movie files.

- I have no SIM and no data in my Z30 and one of my 2 Passports, as long as there is wifi, I can connect to BBM on any of them, Bell Network in Canada01-28-17 07:54 AMLike 0
- I never said it wouldn't work on wifi. Of course BBM will work over a wifi network even if the phone doesn't have any sim card at all. As for the 'still data' problem, whatever the reason is, it works!!! And I take very good advantage of it. BBM for Android will not work.

- I hated that I had to install so many apps for codecs and simple stuff that are allready in BB10. I also find out that Bluetooth is more stable on the Passport then on my Priv. The apps are sometimes not working when you open other apps ,because of the switchtasking , instead of multitasking. but I find out that some apps could be combined with another apps. So you can use two apps at the same time. The HUB is much better on BB10 and also it's easier to combine stuff together ,so it's easier and quicker to use.
I also find it unbelievable that Android still has that stupid buttons for back, home and open apps. It cost you screen size and with some apps the don't go away and you have to click them everytime. With BB10 it's just swipe up and take the other app or just open another app easily. I was a big ANdroid fan since 1.5 till I get BlackBerry 10, but still don't know why they have these buttons there. BlackBerry 10 is in that way really a smartphone to use.
I also find out that I only use some few extra apps and that's why I decided to sell my Priv because I find out that I had two devices and that I mostly use the Passport instead of my Priv with a retro os feel and small keyboard.
So I'm back on BB10dmlis likes this.01-28-17 07:02 PMLike 1 - Man, the Passport is my favorite, I think those who state no one would buy a Passport these days just have no idea what the device is capable of doing, they might have even had it, but if didn't have the time or dedication to do what's needed to fully awake the beast inside they will never know what they missed.
However, I must admit the PRIV is an awesome device, and for me the best Android phone that has ever existed. I enjoy having both. Keep Passport as primary.

This is data countless!
By the wayJPD404, I thing every person I know who as try a passport for a couple of months, felt in love with! The form factor, the real achievement of many détails.. Especially during the first year of this phone were laucher.
Most of People have complain further ingeneering software.. Mean after développer défection. If blackberry could continu major App développement by itself. Yeap passport Will still on for years to Come.
The only plus of the priv are the fantastic eyes frendly screen. And a quicker connectivity. And the fact you can have the real App from développer. Google play store is like mini wild West. And on this android phone we Just feel the BlackBerry signature of achievement. The intégration of BlackBerry apps and android OS seems superficial. BlackBerry touch is not truly compréhensive as expect. No real overcoating. After 4 month I have switch three time to m'y passport, I was annotés by the three launcher overlaying. There is so many touch up to be done I nope the Will soin swith to NOUGat and release it.
You say you were watching YouTube on your passport with which App please?01-28-17 10:33 PMLike 0
