Has anyone tried using a 4 connector auxiliary cord like this on their Passport?

If yes, did it allow the phone to recognize that headphones were plugged in, instead of it being unit output plugged in?

Or does anyone have thoughts of what this cord could do to both phone and receiving head unit it plugs into, from past experiences?

I've had a couple a non-phone headphones cause loss of headphone detection (reboot solved). So I get nervous with the headphone jack in general.

I wonder if anyone has tried it. And how the phone reacts to it. Being there will be nothing attached to the 4 connector on the other end would it still recognize that the phone is plugged in as unit output or would it read as though it's being plugged in as headphones.
