I've had my passport for about 9 months now and have never really seen the multi day lifetime of the battery some boast about. Most I ever experienced was 16 hours I think.

I have five email accounts with calendars and contacts to match and I use the device quite a bit. I love Evernote by the way.. I also use Waze which I already know is a big battery drainer so maybe I should be happy it lasts 10 hours. .

I don't regularly play games unless i'm stuck on a flight with no WiFi and can't sleep.

So is 10 hours about normal?

Waze eats battery, and I mean like it's just smoked a few bowls and has the serious munchies.

I get 18 hours easy and I spend about four hours on the coach/tube playing MACE and reading Reddit while listening to music. I have about the same for email accounts and then a bunch for social and other.

So yeah, you're about right for the way you abuse it Make sure you close apps when you finish with them, it's not like they take long to launch again and you should see much better life. Ditch Waze or at least kill the process when it's not in use.

I've had mine for about 9 months also and its been pretty beaten on.

10-12 is about right for heavy use. In the beginning 16-18 was more common, but that's the way the lithium Ion battery crumbles.

i dont use any location based services on my passport as it will shread the battery. if i am using it normally i can get 12-14 hours on heavy days 2-3 days on lighter usage. also when i am at work it drains faster as the wifi here sucks compared to when i am at home.

Well all I can say is you guys must be some serious users. I consider myself a pretty heavy user....on the phone a lot and always emailing, texting, and browsing, plus the Neutron is always on for music via blutooth or wired headset. I've never had this thing die from 7am wake until past midnight...commonly I'll have 20 to 40% left over.

Something that eat a lot of battery is reception, if u have low to no reception at home or at work the battery will in fact drain much faster as it tries to boost signal strength.

When I was using my passport battery life was literally days. But I think there are too many variables to go by what someone else is getting as far as battery life goes.

Device monitor. Check the battery and processing usage. You'll see what isn't normal. And can gain 10 hours if changes have been made.

Sounds like yours is doing good.
Try doing what you do on the Passport with any phone that has a smaller battery. You'll be lucky to get past 6 hours with a smaller battery phone.
