Check your app list. One of the apps, or more, is doing it. Probably an android app. Do a reboot to see if that fixes it.
This happened to me twice. Once due to a battery monitoring app I got from bbw and quickly deleted, the other time from an android sports news app. Deleted that too.
There are other reasons for overheating but apps are generally the cause.
The Guide is definitive. Reality is frequently inaccurate.
I happened with 10.3.2 too, so I hold both vol up & vol down button until BlackBerry logo came out, surprisingly it works like a charm..

Yes I`ve already taken those steps now it is on charge after two reboots . the device monitor only shows 43 % system usage everyhting else is below 1% or so relative smal usage.
Thanks for the suggestion though.
ok ....what shall that do then? that sound intresting I`ll give it a go... thank you.
I did not know that I am able to do a screen shot by pressing the volume buttons together.
I'm down to 7hrs now from 100% charge, deleted most android apps, Audible being about when the trouble started! Whats going on??

The likely cause of this is what it has always been, people updating and not letting the device settle. The system requieres time to reindex everything and settle. I have never had this issue as I've always update/autoloader and then set the device down for 8-12 hours while plugged in to allow it to do its thing.

I concur that it's probably a rogue app acting up.

Dear Contribures I am delighted to report that PANIC is over things working as per normal. I very much like to thank you all your input .
after last nights reboot and "settle" it work fine.
Hi I just got the update here in HK on Sat (Feb 18th) I did notice that it ran quite warm and the battery drained quicker than before. Today Monday (Feb 20th) it is settling down as it is no longer running hot and the battery life is getting better. It is running the android app's I have installed better than before and the browser is quicker. The update has also brought new life to my Semi Retired Z10 as well. Rocking 24-7 with my Passport SE
I've noticed a significant decrease in SOT with the Passport since the 10.3.3 update. I used to be able to get 2 full days charge, and even then still about 20% remaining. I'm mostly now only using the phone for an alarm and occasional email, etc. (which is a shame, because it is a great phone) but this is noticeably worse. I now have to charge the phone every 16 hours or so.
It's been a few weeks and my keyboard backlight is working again. But the nonsensical battery drain is still happening. It drains more when it is doing nothing, just lying on my desk, than it does if I'm using the music player. I dunno how folks account for that.
Browsing is less crappy than it was, that or I've gotten used to the crappy browsing, not sure though.
I am considering going backwards a few versions. My passport was running gangbusters before the update.
Yup. Same issue. While in standby the battery life is significantly worse.

Since updating to 10.3.3, battery life is noticeably worse. Before, I could comfortably get through the day and most, if not all, of the next day. Now, phone needs charging nightly. All in all, not a big deal as its convenient to charge at night but frustrated at how much poorer battery life has become. Haven't been able to pin point if it's one specific rogue app draining the battery. Tried the restarts but no luck. Just wanted to add my two cents
