After a couple of days of humming and hawing and obsessively staring at pictures online, I took the plunge and ordered one as well!

I'm feeling a bit of buyer's remorse at the moment as this won't be my daily driver as my work only supports iOS and Android (loving my KEYone) so this will simply be a collector's item that a break out on the occasional weekend.

Hopefully that remorse feeling will go away once the package arrives!

The 9983 just arrived today and I am stunned by its magnificence! I've gotten so used to using larger devices the past two years that I've forgotten how nice it is to have a compact and pocketable communication device!

I'm only bummed that I can't use this as my daily driver but will definitely figure out a way to integrate this little beauty into my day-to-day life!Just Ordered the Graphite 9983!!-img_20170615_1223051.jpg

I took the 9983 out for a spin yesterday for a couple of hours while I was running some errands with my wife. Alas, it did not fare so well as a primary device.

While I will always have a fond place in my heart for BB10, it's glory days are clearly behind it imo. I never figured myself much for an app guy, but not having my KEYone on me really left me feeling handcuffed.

BB10 will always be king as a pure communication OS (BBM, email, text) but my needs go beyond that. The Hub on Android does a good enough job for me and while I do miss the peak and flow, its absence is offset by the convenience of Google Play services without the hassles of sideloading or handcuffed dependencies on BB10's outdated Android Run Time.

Don't get me wrong, I do not regret getting the 9983 one bit. It is a beautiful device and I'm so happy to have it in my BB collection. It just won't make it to daily driver status anytime soon.

Now... time to see if I can score a P'9981 and P'9982 for a good price!

I am in no way a Porsche guy (I drive a Mazda!) , but I love that unapologetic PD plate slapped right on the front of the device! Otherwise, what would be the point in getting the phone?

The value in these devices is having the whole deal. The lack of the original box, custom Pin card, etc. is a bit of a turn off. But still a very nice device

IDK but the whole communication aspect is kind of a factor for me 😜

I think it's a very attractive design and very different looking, a worthy alternative for q10 or classic; but for me, having the PORSCHE DESIGN up top there is tacky at best but could also be a distraction from the screen. Maybe tacky isn't the right word...
It's just kinda odd in the same way that it would be to use a laptop that said BETTY CROCKER DESIGN on the top 🙃

What I like about the phone, in addition to the foot print, the removable battery, the sharp screen, and on and on, is the keyboard. Granted it at first seems like it just won't work. However, after 10 minutes, speed is increasing and you are back in the groove.

I also like the Q. Yet the quality control on the Q keyboards was less than stellar to say the least. And while it is only a 10 minute task to change out a keyboard, it is a shame BB never paid enough attention to shortcoming in production....

I actually ordered it with the complete oem box but the seller goofed up. He's sending me the box and it's on its way. I was not happy when it showed up in a generic cardboard box but the seller apologized and was cool about resolving the issue.

I bought it as a collector to add to my fleet, and not as a daily device so I'm not worried about that.

I agree - if you like the 9000, 9900, Q, then you will like the 9983.

Ins simple terms, is it as creative and as unique as the 9981? In a word, no. It is what the Q should have been when it was released. Much better build quality.

I always wanted one when they first came out but choked on the pricing. I got mine sealed in orig box with the plated PIN Card for my Mother's Day gift to myself as I have an idaughter and a WinSon.

Everyone said the SQK100-1 would not work on AT&T LTE. Mine does, but not all the time, going to 4G at the worst. I have it as my second line, sharing my data with my Passport. Granted it is not my daily driver, but I bought it for my BB Collection and do take it with me because I can. Absolutely Love it!

$250 from ebay if you're lucky? Give or take.

I was thinking of the 9982. More like $400 for the 9983.
