So got me a P'9983 some weeks ago.
Seeting it up right now to play around. Let's see how it still manages it's basic tasks in 2019.
First Porsche Design Phone for me btw....
P.S.
Damn those keys are hard.

Weeks ago... and you have been able to stay away from it? ;)
True true - but I'll try to catch up ;-)
BB10 in 2019 has its compromises (cough..a lot..cough), but the more I hold this thing the sexier it gets.

BTW forgot how much fun this small form factor is. I have some Bold 9900 but they are really non usable at this point (without BIS).
With the P'9983 I can use Email, Twitter (sort of), WhatsApp (yes you kinda can), simple browsing.... So - Fun!

Did you get the silver or granite p9983? The silver has the carbon fibre back and is glossy while the granite is matte and has the faux leather back.
I have the granite version and agree that the keys are stiff and loved being reminded of how awesome that compact form factor was.
Alas, I could barely get through a weekend with it as a daily driver. Just too many compromises.
Still a great looking phone though!
Still a very very sexy phone. However, each must decide what tools are required. as much as it pains me, most, unlike me, will want to use Apps, etc. As such, likely not the correct "hammer", but still a DARN good "roll of duct tape"!
I got the silver one. It has this fibre back - which in 2019 looks like shiny plastic ;-). The back is a HUGE finger smutch attractor....
I ordered a yellow leather back - so looking forward to put it on. I mean, yes... the black glossy front with a yellow leather back?! But that's the fun of it - you don't see stuff like that around ;-)
I see how my week is gonna be - i'll update the thread from time to time.

I have my S9 running all sorts of apps - so I am sort of cheating ;-)

Remark:
I had lots of phones with LED notification - but WHY can't they be so wonderfully bright and clear as on this devise?
Last time I had those nice flashes was on my Bold 9900

How much is a phone like this nowadays? You can't really get one in Hungary. Are they expensive? If not, I would very much like to get my hands on one and use it as a daily. (I currently use a classic for that)

Well, then, as a long time user, I recommend go for it. I use my 9983's as daily drivers. However, I only do email, phone, sms and BBM, along with limited internet for newspapers. The form factor is fabulous. As is the ability to swap batteries.
But... But... Ugh, it has glossy keys which is what I hate about the KEYone's PKB
Hey!
Don't spoil the party ;-)

They are still not cheap - check German Ebay for instance to get an idea. This was a 2000$ phoney back in da day, and the value is now driven by collectors not real users.

Thanks! Shame tho. I would've gone for one just for the he'll of it. I like to try pkb Blackberrys :)

Must have been few units sold in market there...
Here in the US Amazon has

One seller had at least 10 of them.
Really don't get your message.
So they are super cheap in the US?

$549 for a new phone that is five year old phone isn't cheap in my book. But it is a lot cheaper than the original sales prices. Our eBay has a used seller at $250...
Ehem.... I said in my post ' they are still NOT cheap'. I think you over- read the 'not' ;-)

Got this nice yellow leather like cover...damn that's a contrast! Attachment 445489Attachment 445490
Excuse my lack of information, but where should I place an ad for selling a BB Curve? (or any bb on that matter) One of my friends has a few new berries laying around (he owned a shop, but now he specialises in just repairing phones). He asked me to help in selling them.
Posted via CB10
Ehem...So you wanna sell any random BlackBerry and thought a dedicated P'9983 thread is a good place to start?
Also - aren't there places like Ebay in your country?
Posted from my P'9983
Ehem no, actually. Do you see an ad here from me? I was asking for directions, since searching the forums by keywords got me nowhere, but I'm sure there is a place here dedicated to sell devices and we were just talking about collector driven prices and so on.
I guess I could try ebay, I don't think it would be a problem that we don't have regional in my country, since there is the eu one if i'm not mistaken, although I have never sold anything on ebay before.
If my question bothers you that much, please kindly delete my post, I think this place is big enough to find someone who can help.

Yeah, that's sexy as hell. Where did you find the case?

Reading this thread, I realise I miss my Porsche design Blackberry.
