Hello guys,

Here's my question: i am currently using a q10 but I want the porsche design so badly. I am just worried that battery life would be worse along with other stuff.
What do you guys think? Should i get it?

Hmm,

Aesthetically maybe the P9981 but I would stick to the Q10, especially if you are already using it. It'll be quicker with more functionality and probably have a longer battery life too.

Save your money and stick with the Q10, it's still a headturner.

The things that i am worried about is the battery life, it's like the 9900 battery so it sucks..i heard there's a 1500 mah battery around tho.
Anyone of you who owns it , is it worth it?

been using my P'9981 for very long time now, got mine the moment they came out, the battery life id say isn't that bad, my phone can last up to 3 days of normal use, regular phone calls, emails, text and internet. I'd say its worth having a P'9981. Everything on the phone is amazing, especially the built quality and aesthetics of the device, the only drawback would be that it doesn't run on blackberry 10 operating system.

I'm just using the normal battery that comes with the phone. Literally like a full charge last me 3 days, but I barely use my phone anyway..mainly just to make couple of texts, facebook and emails that's all

Oh i see, i'm really thinking about it i mean the q10 it's great but the p9981 it's more cool imo, and also exclusive.. i might just by the 1500 mah battery

If the Q10 is your first Blackberry Device, you're going to be in for a heck of a difference going to the P'9981 7.0's OS.
Aesthetically though it's a sweet machine, if I had the choice I'd go for the Matte Black version. Even though it's Black it still pops out and it's better built.

I'm not sure if the last few weeks have changed their plans but there were pictures of a Porsche Design Z10 and a mention of a Porsche Design Q10 down the line.

No the q10 is not my first BB, i had the z10, the 9900 the 9000 the 8900 and one of the first Pearl...Btw Yeah i'd like to get the black one but i'd prefer to get it used since its "old" now, dont know if i should trust ebay tho

The black matte looks really good, but if I'll have to pick either black or silver id probably choose the silver, just because I like the actually bezel chrome it stands out really well and the combination of silver colour and black screen and back.

The upcoming porsche design Z10 looks very nice, I'm excited for it to be launched, finally a luxury blackberry with BB10

eBay is alright, but I think most of the P'9981s on eBay are still brand new especially if you're thinking of getting the black matte, pretty much the same to the retail price value, but the silver and chrome on the other hand, there are few "used" ones that I've seen on there.

I'm actually thinking of getting a black P9981 on eBay too but as what I hear the Porsche design blackberry 10 will be launching next year so maybe I'll just wait, if I'll have to choose between a PD Z10 or Q10 I'd go for a Q10 one lol I just can't really live without the Porsche design keyboard.

Yeah same, the keyboard is so good honestly! I looked on ebay and i found a few black PD around 800 euro, maybe i'll get one or i'll wait a couple of weeks and See if the price Goes down and i will use it as a spare phone!

sounds good! it's worth waiting anyway because that amount of money on a phone is a serious decision..but if you see something good and cheap then why not hey

Have no idea when the Porsche Design BlackBerry 10 will be available. I believe the outlook of the 9981 is unique being compared with the pictures of the Porsche Design BlackBerry Z10 in the web sites. The Porsche Design BlackBerry Z10 does not look that Porsche Design to me personally. It looks very common as a matter of fact.

Do not worry about the capacity of the original 9981 battery that much. You can just purchase an extra spare battery, even the Bold 9900 battery can fix it.

Lol you're kidding? Besides the exclusive pin, the icons and beautiful model (I admit), what's the difference? Same display, same ram, same apps, same battery (sucks), same NO autofocus, different processor but same speed? Please..

I know it's very similar compared to the 9900 for the software etc , but we don't know if and when the bb10 version it's going to be released..plus it's not a phone you see everyday imo
