OK did some searching around. There used to be some legacy .ipd format that now changed to .bbb. But the latest .bbb is a universal format used in both win and mac, and not just an old mac format. So i did a full backup and i'm now left with a .bbb file, which i guess i will have to restore to the new phone. BTW Will it just add entries along with existing ones, or will it erase existing and replace with previous ones?

Also is there any free piece of software that can handle .bbb files on windows so that i can view/export my messages, memos etc? I keep hearing of amber and other that are commerical.

Finally, is there any way to transfer apps as well? Cause it seems it only backups settings and personal data except apps and registrations. Is there any way to migrate them as well?

If you connect your new phone and open the transfer from an old device you should be OK. If you got rid of your old phone and only have the backup than you can just restore using the BB desktop manager.

Then how is it that this particular app that supports OS7 lists it as an incompatible device? Did anyone else try installing it to see if maybe they can?

Guys i encounter a problem on my device. IT has an issue on the 3.5 port and i cannot use wired hands-free correctly. Could that be a hardware problem, or a software issue? I'm on the latest os7 paraguay.

For the amount that you guys pay for your P'9981's, BlackBerry should definitely design a complimentary free upgrade to BB10. It's the very least they can do for shelling out so much cash on an OS7 phone that still costs 1200 new.
