I you mean you want the latest OS? That depends: if your phone is branded to a carrier (locked or unlocked does not matter) like Verizon etc., then you will have to wait for the carrier to push their approved OS. So, if you are running an at&t branded phone on T-Mo, you will not get the T-Mo version, but the at&t, etc.

If you have an factory unlocked (unbranded) then BBerry itself will push you the OS. Or, you can load the OS yourself.
