I know this is a old subject by now but it bothers me somewhat that all the other phones...and even phones like the 9700 or the Storm2 has had new OS updates already and i havent seen none for the 8330m. I mean if they are not going to update it, why are carriers still selling the phone? I see soo many people wit the 8330m too.
I really need to get me a new Blackberry soon lol....I want the new OS as well lol.
Well here's the deal, the 8330 is an older device and although it is slated to get the OS 5.0 update, not many people who have access to this software are trying to get it as they have newer devices. So basically what it boils down to is the people who actually leak software don't care much about leaking it for the 8330. Or the 9630 for that matter and it's a newer device. Just one of them things.
I feel your pain. I have done much research and remember reading around here that 8330m is not compatible for some reason or another.

when did it first leak?
I feel your pain as well, especially because when it was first leaked for the 8330, I didn't realize it was specific to the 8330 and wasn't compatible with the 8330m. I put it on and it was bricked. There was no OS on it. After 3 long hours of trying to figure out what to do, I finally was able to get 4.5 back on. I really hope the real 5.0 comes out soon and it gives us 8330m users a chance to experience it.

It's marketing. All carriers and RIM think we should buy new devices every 6 months and therefore don't give a **** about the 8330m. If they did there would be at least 1 leak, instead, the only thing to do is release patchs and fixes in the form of .169,.175. It's been said that 8330 will get 5.0, but I don't see it happening. I will look at this thread from time to time and eat crow if neccessary, but I don't think so.
yeah I heard the same thing. I guess 5.0 OS for now is just wishful thinking, but like you said i hope they prove me wrong as well. if not I guess when the june comes I will have to take my upgrade and get the tour for sprint!
Or the Essex if they decide to get it. ;)
yeah i understand as well i have 8330 5.0 OS for so long. i have been wanting a new OS hella bad but so far no go. it makes me just want to get a new BB just so i can be updated. whats the point of having a BB that cant be updated anymore.
