Why does it take a long time to load up the Blackberry OS when I take out the battery and put it back in?

Sometimes it takes 10 minutes to load the Blackberry OS which is ridiculous.

Can somebody please provide me a technical explanation?

It shouldn't be taking that long. What OS are you running? 5.0? I have an 8330 that i use for work with 5.0.230 on it and it takes 3-4 minutes at most.

It takes a lot longer if you have Encryption enabled. It turns on automatic memory cleaning, and adds a lot more time to the boot time. Check Under Options->General->Encryption, or Security->Encryption to see if it's enabled. Disable it, unless you really need it. I keep my password protection, but am back and forth with Encryption. If you have really sensitive data, then it might be best to leave it on. If you have a company BlackBerry on a BES, then you probably can't modify this setting anyhow.

If it's not, you might want to update to the latest OS (if you haven't already)
