not to **** you off or anything but pretty much all phones software is buggy and junk.. i prefer the blackberry os cause its behind and it will make a huge come back sooner or later and will destroy the world!! muhahaha... probably not but still, :P
android is not , as I hav mentioned before
iPhones are not very buggy, neither are HTC's
RIM is really messing up on OS
yea agrees!!yea agrees!!yea agrees!!yea agrees!!yea agrees!!
iPhones also don't run simultaneous programs like BlackBerry, either (unless jailbroken, I think). I'm sure Android does, though.
I run OS 5.0.0.411, and I can say it's the fastest, least buggy OS I've run, though. I can't wait for the carrier releases to come out, so people leery of "leaks" can enjoy it.
To the OP: Are you running the latest offical 9000 OS, and if so, what issues are you having?
Kind of a vague complaint...
I've yet to see a phone with any OS that doesn't have problems with each release...
To be quite honest. Many of the small bugs "here and there" are always going to be there. With any device. I'm willing to bet, you wouldn't even know about half of them if you didn't browse Crackberry.
If you browse an Android forum, or an iPhone forum, you'll read about all the 'bugs' they have there.
Here is a link to an android forums Support forum.

While they may be DIFFERENT bugs, but bugs nonetheless. You could argue, that those are all isolated issues. To which I would say, my Blackberry is flawless, which it truly is.
I've spent more time loading and reloading OS's on this phone and dealing with bugs than all previous phones I've owned combined.
How can the general public be expected to use a Storm phone if you've got to constantly monitor memory and deal with lock ups and all sorts of things?
They fix one thing and break another. Example now with .419 release, they added a couple nice things, like pop-up keys, but now the speed dial is messed up. I press 9 and it speed dials entry 1??? Seriously, what kind of QA are they doing at RIM?? Get some real quality testing program in place please!
I've had lockups, all types of random exception errors since owning this thing. VAD was much worse in 5.0, but now works better. It's just tiring never knowing what they will break next!
I wish I hadn't bought this phone...shelled out a couple hundred bucks before my renew-in-two was up w/ Verizon, and now I'm stuck with this thing for another year and a half.
I've asked my friends that have an iPhone if they continually see lockups and need to reboot or do battery pulls. They never have to do a thing. They work flawlessly. The Storm is the only iPhone wannabe option at Verizon, or was until Droid, so I took a chance.
This phone is only for us geeks who don't mind spending umpteen hours reloading OS's, but it's not fun anymore. I feel like I'm a beta tester, and I didn't sign up for that. Give me something I can rely on for my hard earned money.
I think you have to separate the Storm and Storm 2 bugs. Touchscreen is a completely new venture for RIM. Those bugs were expected, and I don't think you can include them when talking about Blackberrys in general.
My Bold 9700 is absolutely flawless. No bugs hinder my usability in anyway.
I have no bugs on my 9700. I love this phone.
No it definitely is i own a android phone & it has its fair share of bugs
Go use the htc hero or the touch pro and you will see they are extremely laggy
Bottom line is this...
The grass is always greener on the other side.
so true. Im now using the storm 2 and, it just crushes during calls...
I have used quite a few BBs , im now using 9700 n storm 2 9550.
what im saying abt the BB OS is not just one particular, issue. is the whole
OS stability. especially wth the the OS coming with the phone (official commercial stock) and first few updates of the OS version.
ep. when I first got the bold. it have extensive call drops( call failed)
storm 2 in call crush.....
so on and so on .......
sometime lil smalls things, like the OS of the 9700 shipped wth is much stabler then the others. but i had once, the auto dim baklight is some how malfunctioned.. even i switched the device off, the big carrier logo was still setting there on the whole screen, wouldnt disappear..so i hav to do batt pull.
I know every1 here love blakberry, thats why we buy them, especially me as well. spent money on them, otherwise i wouldnt be here. some of us hav a big BB ego. but to be real, the BB OS hav a LOT to catch up compare with some other OS out there
I hear your pain bro but you should recognize that Storm 1 is RIM first touch screen phone and just like the iPhone first gen it was just as buggy and problematic. Apple is on it's third generation iPhone and RIM just release their 2nd gen Storm not to long ago.
Storm 1 totally misrepresent RIM as a promising company but Storm 2 is definitely making some loss ground for RIM. I certainly can't wait what RIM have up it's sleeve for Storm 3.
Try RIM's keyboard phone and you will be amaze why people speak highly of the company.
storm series were just an example, the point here is whole bb os across the whole bb range.
other bb device OS compare wth storm series are much better of course, but just buggy here and there as we just mentioned on the previous threads.

I'm starting to think CrackBerry needs to include an "Attention Seekers" section of the forums.
Do me a favor OP.. Let's see what kind of OS/Smartphone you can make. Then we will all point out the flaws and failures to you.
Every person has different expectations. When a company is mass producing a product they will never be able to satisy every single person. Don't like it? Easy solution.. Try something new until you find what you like.

I have owned palm, winmo, and trolled most of the smartphone forums- and hands down the RIM people seem to have gotten most of it right. Remember people write the software, and people make mistakes even the best of them.

"Attention Seekers post", well, ok, if u would like to think it that way. the whole reason I post this was to rise the attention, well Ideally if RIM could hear us. abt the numeric bugs on their OS.
I obviously as a end user, have the right to point of the flaws and the only reason is want to make BB OS a better OS. As I mentioned before, BB is still my favorite device, if I really dont giv a **** abt it, i wouldnt have been here , to type this thread n discuss with you guys.
