    how soon will i have to get rid of my torch 9860 that i bought about 8 months ago.. will there be any support for it for the next yr or 2? will there be a reduced qnx os for it 7.2 or 8.0?

    BlackBerry have said they are still going to support if and I think I read somewhere that they is more updates planned for OS7 devices

    They still support OS4 and OS5 with security updates and even new features so I think you are probably safe for years.

    As long as there are new OS releases for any 7.1 device the BL boys will cook up a new Hybrid for us.

    Don't worry, OS7 will be around for some time yet.

    BB need at least one OS that actually does what we want it to do. RIP BB10, too little too late IMO.

    A torch 9860? I would upgrade for sure to a Z10.... BB10 is a 100 times better for touch screen phones - if you were using a Bold 9900 then maybe it wouldn't be as much of a difference but for a 9860 - upgrade as soon as you have the spare change!

    there will be support from blackberry always. Even post releasing BB10 they are releasing OS 5/6/7 updates hence nothing to worry and Berry on........

    Your phone isn't going to stop working unless Blackberry tanks. Then the servers will go away. However, the likelihood of that happening anytime soon is slim. Everything depends on OS 10. If it's successful, Blackberry will survive. If OS 10 isn't successful, the company will tank, taking everything with it.
