Just to ask, is there a good How-To guide on loading 5.0? I've never done this and would love to upgrade my Tour, but I'm really not sure on how/what to do so I DONT mess up my Tour.

If you scroll up and hover over "Blackberry Help" then click on "Blackberry 101 Lecture Series" you'll see a list of "How To's." There are two lectures you'll want to look into. The one pertaining to upgrading the os and upgrading the os using apploader. It's two different methods of installing an os. Pick which one seems easiest to you and go for it. Yep yep. Granted, some people (me lol) have run across an issue when trying to install the os where their computer/laptop won't allow the install for some reason...it keeps showing that no upgrades are available. Installing from a different pc worked it all out though.

Here is the site I used late last night to get .230 installed on your phone. It takes a while, but is worth it in the end. Just make sure to backup your device before doing a wipe, and backup any 3rd party apps you got going.

I am not too computer savvy and I got this working around 2 hours.

I installed the .230 in 30 minutes flat using the application loader (no complete wipe) and my phone is flying....I agree its the best upgrade I could have done and I didnt think I would like the threaded SMS but now I love it! Will not be installing a hybrid over it.

I experienced the same problem, with little phone use. I went back to v.11 and all is well.

Well I say this post and decided to try this OS out and I love, love, love it! My phone boots so much faster, really liking the new text, the speed of my BB browser and the small little tweeks I have noticing. My try our one of the hybrid OS, will have to do a little research prior. Thanks for the info about .230

i upgraded and liked it. But ended up downgrading because bbm 5.0 did not work (but this was right after the release of .230) without doing hybrids.


has that changed now since the new 5.0 bbm offical release? ?
