Above posters, what OS were you running?

Might want to upgrade to 5.0.0.230 because you need to reload the OS to recover anyhow...

I'm running the stock 4.7.1.40 OS and just downloaded/installed BBM 5.0.0.33 through App World. Got the nice friendly "Reload Software: 522" error on reboot. Lovely...

Sigh.. might use this as an excuse to try out 5.0.0.230 now...

Am I doing this right? I'm trying to reload the OS and it's taking forever. It's sitting at the second "Connecting to device" and the bar is CRAWLING. Is this normal? When I reload the OS, will I have to reprogram my phone through Verizon?

This is a ******* joke. How is RIM releasing official software that's crashing their phones?

yes it appears if you are not running 5.0 os then it bricks the phone. The problem with the OS is that too many things do not run on 230 yet - Sprint Navigation, Shazam.

Yep - the first boot-up works great. It's after doing a battery pull that it messes up.

I downloaded the new BB messenger and got error 523. I am running OS 4.7.1.53. I had to do two battery pulls and now my phone is working. So I did not have to reload the OS or anything but it is a shame that just downloading it would not work properly.

Upgrading has significantly slowed down my Storms boot process. Actually it still boots in about the same time but its unusable for about a minute after it gets to the home screen. I'm running .230 and I definitely didn't have this issue before the upgrade. Anyone else having this issue?

Bricked mine, too (OS 4.7.1.53). "Reload Software 552". In the final stages of loading v5.0.0.230 right now.

I take it I've lost all of my data? I couldn't find a recent backup, except for an App_Loader back-up from October 1st, but I don't see any way of using it for a restore.
