Maybe it worked for me because the link is a one-time download link.
Do this:
Goto link in OP. Save the .rar file it downloads as a .TXT file. Open the .TXT file and search for .rar. Should be a link. Copy and paste the link into your browser

rename the RAR file extension to HTML.

Open it and there is a link to sendspace.

I saved at a .htm file and clicked it afterwards. But wow! How difficult can it be, to upload a file? But thanks still goes out to whoever does the work.

Install:
-Download the 7.1.0.342 resource files from 1UpShare (it’s same link, but download has been updated)
-Unzip the .rar file and use password ’9900′ to unlock
-Take the files and copy/paste them over top of your currently installed OS on your computer
-For windows, you can find this in C:/ > Program Files > Common Files > Research In Motion > Shared > choose the latest OS (preferably 7.1.0.284)
-Once all files are copied over correctly, connect your 9900 to BlackBerry Desktop Manager
-Follow the instructions to update to OS 7.1.0.342

Did a clean install of 284 today. Now I have 342 ready, installed and all, yet I chicken out Really don't wanna spoil my days work by an unknown build, so hanging on for some feedback on 342 here.

Anyone done the deed?

Install at your own risk. I've done my best to make this as simple as possible.

Instructions: (Select ONE method)

Method 1 - no base:
NOTE FOR THIS METHOD: DUH ON MY PART, RENAME FOLDER FROM 9360M_v7.0.0.530_P8.0.0.499 to 9900AllLang_v7.1.0.342_P5.1.0.276, upload already fixed
This WILL NOT and I STRESS WILL NOT affect the OS install, just will look like you're installing a 9360 folder
1. Install OS to PC
1a. Shrink your OS if you want
2. Install to phone
3a. For best results, do 2-3 battery pulls and allow 24-48 hour "settling" time

Method 2 - .284 base:
1. Install OS 7.1.0.284 to PC
2. Install this OS over the OS folder above
2a. Shrink your OS if you want
3. Install to phone
3a. For best results, do 2-3 battery pulls and allow 24-48 hour "settling" time

Method 3 - .267 base:
1. Install OS 7.1.0.267 to PC
2. Install this OS over the OS folder above
2a. Shrink your OS if you want
3. Install to phone

Hm wonder why it would throw that, could be all the checking BBHTool does at start up (check BB OS folders, device detected, desktop shortcut exists etc.) Never seen it show that before though

The download mirrors work in the OP. Anybody saying they don't work, try typing the IP address of the site, your ISP is probably blocking it. I'll be loading this up later on, if it works out.
