I upgraded my 9700 from OS5 to OS6 last July. I'm running bundle 2718 v6.0.0.615, platform 6.6.0.223. Its been going ok - most of the time. It frequently runs out of memory when using the browser, and reboots itself once a day or so, normally at very inconvenient times.
Anyway I was thinking of downgrading to OS5 to get a stable OS back again that doesn't continually run out of memory.
Just wondered if anyone can advise whether I'd be better off trying a more recent OS6 first?
Yes I remember it as being very stable and reliable. I frequently had loads of apps running at the same time with no hangs/reboots required.
I use it for playing music in the car alot. Keep finding music goes quiet all of a sudden. Pick the phone up (while driving) to see that its rebooting - again! Very annoying as have to stop, pull over and set it playing again.
...If you didn't shrink it, use BBoss to directly shrink it on the phone and see how you get on from there.
