Is it true or just a myth?? Can not seem to get an answer
- I currently have a bb 8530 and I have seen threads about OS6 being compatible with the 8530....Then there are threads saying it will not work on the 8530...
So what is the correct answer or is there a right answer? Has anyone seem documentation from Rim that the 8530 is OS6 ready?
I'm just curious bc OS6 seems to address a lot of problems with the bb and I'm read for something as I'm sure the rest of you...
So is it a myth or I this something that is true? I see VZ has an update coming but is it OS6??
Any help would be appreciated......thanks guys

- There will be no OS6 for Curve 8530 the only device that will get it is the Bold 9650 & 9700, Pearl 3G, and Curve 9300 & 9330. That's it.
EDIT: Storm 2.5, Bold 9780, and all the future phones will get it as well.

09-16-10 08:50 PMLike 0 - same thing was said about 5.0 on 8330.....
the way I read the statement from RIM, those phones listed are the 100 percent yes...other phones, mainly the curve 8530, are still maybes. It has the memory needed, it has the track pad.....it is capable of running 6.0.....but IF it does come to the 8530, expect a looooong wait and even then it will be a leak and not anything official from a carrier.09-16-10 09:00 PMLike 0 - Thanks for the quick responses.......I hope there is an official OS for the 8530.....but here's the other thing I'm scratching my head about...sprint is releasing a curve 3G????
is the 8530 3G as well? It hurts my feelings I just signed up and a newer curve that looks exactly like my curve is coming out.....
I think that curve is capable of OS6...
Thoughts??

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com09-16-10 09:38 PMLike 0 - The 8530 has Rev. 0 speeds while the 9330 has Rev. A speeds. Otherwise, they are pretty much the same besides the amount of memory (8530 has 256 MB; 9330 has 512 MB).09-16-10 11:28 PMLike 0

Curve 8500 series & 8900 -- 512 Mhz
Bold, Pearl 3G, and Torch -- 624 Mhz
The Curve 9330 only have 256 MB and not 512 MB. Also, the difference between the two is the processor speed. I believe the speed of the Curve 8500 series is only 512 MHz the same with 8900 while the 9300 series have 624 MHz just like the Bold, Pearl 3G, and the Torch.09-17-10 12:04 AMLike 0 -
- It got all the requirements except for the processor speed.

9300 has 256.
9330 has 512. And not 624mhz processor.

BlackBerry - Curve 9300 Phone - New BlackBerry Curve 3G Smartphone
Edit: Never mind. It looks like the 8530 already supported Rev. A speeds. I guess the only difference is the memory. I'm guessing all CDMA devices need 512 MB to run OS 6.
