I am switching to a different blackberry and am wondering if there is a way to get all my bbm contacts over without losing them all.

If I recall the last time I did this it told me to check my email and agree to something and then all of a sudden all of my information came onto my new phone...

Is that blackberry backup assistant ota?

If you are using BBM 5.0, there is an option to back up your contacts to your memory card or even remotely to a Blackberry server.

If you aren't running OS 5.0 then just use DM and do a backup. After you switch to your new device plug it into your pc, run DM and restore using the backup file you created, and that's it.

Open BBM. Press Menu. Select "Backup Contact List".
