I would wipe, but you don't have to. It isn't much more work and it only takes a few minutes.
before i wipe i should back up third party apps and do a complete backup via dm right? then after teh install all i have to do is jsut restore via dm and select teh 3rd party apps also?
Yep. I would use bbsak to backup the apps and wipe. Then, when you go to load the new OS, you can hit add and add the .alx file bbsak created. That way when your phone is updated, it will put all your apps back @ the same time.
i decided just to install over v7.11 but ill prob do a wipe for the official cause this should tide me over till then
When going from hybrid to hybrid, I always wipe. When playing with an OS it's a good habit to back up your data and apps every single time. The one time you don't will be the time you need them.
i always do backups of third party and dm backup, i usually donw wipe though, only on offical releases
Has anyone tried doing this over .303, and just swapping the radio back to .191? I've been doing some reading over at BBhybrids, and a few people have been using the .303 base, and not having all the problems that others have been having.
apparently, you just install .303, apply the 14 hybrid, and then swap the radio to .191, and its supposed to be blazing fast and stable. Idk for sure, I'm doing it now, so I'll post results. Anyone else even tried this yet?
yeah i tried it twice and for some reason it just kept bricking my phone so....im not messing with it.
Wow, that's strange that it bricks your phone. I didn't have any problems during the entire process, and the only flaw that I can find with this setup is that there is no "bolt" on the battery meter when charging, though it does still go to the clock.
Some pro's are that using the .191 radio is very good (better than .230), and the boot-up time has significantly decreased. The thing that I was most surprised by was that right after I loaded up the OS, applying all my settings from a backup, apps, etc...the phone was still very fast, without a battery pull. No lag at all when scrolling through icons, etc, which was just a shock to me.
I guess the only thing I can do now is wait for 7.15 :)
yeah well i think i know what i did wrong but im cool with what i have now....and besides .230 works better for me right now where im at...
