    Just finished the upgrade that was on Twitter this morning. It is from Blackberry and for all carriers. There was a previous thread, which is now closed debating whether or not it's a full upgrade When I go to OPTIONS, ABOUT, it has v.5.o.0.419.

    Check the post and the links out:

    Software For BlackBerry® Tour (TM) 9630 smartphone
    BlackBerry Handheld Software v5.0.0.674 (Multilanguage)
    This is for the 9630 Tour, and will install to any carrier's Tour by following the instructions below.

    Package Version:
    Consisting of:

    * Applications:
    * Software Platform:
    * File name: 9630AMEA_PBr5.0.0_rel674_PL4.2.0.179_A5.0.0.419_MT S_Mobility.exe
    * File size: 100.96MB
    * Published Date: 01/18/2010

    Instructions for installing either version on ANY carrier's 9630:
    1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
    2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

    The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
    If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

    Previous OS here:

    Had they not taken me to BlackBerry, I would not hav done the upgrade either.

    do carriers release extra stuff with official blackberry O.S.? I thought all of them were the same except for the vendor.xml file so if one carrier released it, it was good for all.

    EDIT: yeah... what I thought. no need to wit for each carrier to release it. thanks

    and hi, mickey mouse. LOL

    if anyone has an issue after downloading a leaked version you do it at your own risk as stated. I know the leaked versions can have issues. I am willing to wait for the official OS I don't have a problem with the current OS

    My leaked 419 doesn't have the sms threaded issue that I'm aware of. I had it on 230 tho.

    When I clicked on Sprint Nav, it prompted me to download v2.8. It works fine. Only issue, apart from reentering activation codes, was with Opera Mini. Was hapily using the v4.2, but it wouldn't work. The new beta version 5.5(?) does work fine.

    installed it on my wife's phone b/c she wanted threaded sms. no complaints so far. that was 2 days ago. she just said the battery seems to burn more juice but not by much.

    EDIT: don't forget to unlink your contacts for bbm or their sms messages will show in bbm. happened on my curve 2 as well. maybe it's a 5.0 thing?
