ive been trying to add a new contact in bbm 5. when i add them using their pin, the text message conversations between me and the contact i wish to add instantly show up in bbm. does anyone else experience this? or know how to disable it?

it sounds like you are trying to add a contact via the wrong category under. invite contact. Try having them invite you and see it that changes anything.
The text messanging feature only works if you are running OS 5.0. I think just like Mike068 said that you are trying to invite someone using the wrong category. Ths maybe the outcome of you trying to do so via sms when you aren't running OS 5.0.
