so i received a text message about 10 minutes ago and instead of the notifier being on the left.... it showed up on the right. has anyone else experienced this kinda phenomenon?

The text and sms icons look very similar in 5.0.0.230. Could you be mistaking them? there is no way the location of the icon would change unless you changed themes without realizing it.

How could that happen? You guys are talking about your Homescreen banner correct? The Homescreen banner and the Appscreen banner are different so the icon could be in different places between the two banners, but I don't know how it could just change from one spot to another on the same banner. That's pretty weird.

The theme must just be messing up.

happens to me from time to time also. i'm also running 4.7.1.61, another "problem" i'm having is that i no longer get a red asterisk on my banner when i get an sms. there is one on the app itself, but not up top....weird
