What is this garbage about "give the system time to settle in"?

"Settling In" is perhaps not the best term, but is somewhat accurate. It has nothing to do with being organic, it has to do with the fact that the OS is java based. as different functions are used, the different processes are called, and objects are referenced and added to the "heap".
These objects do not "exist" until they are "called" by the code, so it takes a while for everything to come together when you install a new OS. For a better understanding of what I'm talking about, try looking at some beginner Java books, most of that is covered in the first chapter or two.
I appreciate the response and the information. I'll take your advice and read up some more.

In my situation, it took my battery over a week to "settle in" before usage leveled out to the point where I could get through the day without recharging.
