I have done all the above and nothing seems to be working for me. I am not sure what else I can possibly do.

On OS7, how can I tell if the IT policy is still there? I followed the instructions, and am not sure if it worked. I just want to:

    1. Set my BIS email address for default services for my calendar and messaging.
    2. Use Blackberry Protect on my device (which won't work while on a BES server)

Go to Options / Security / Security Status Information. You can view the IT Policy there. And of course, you can always just try something that the IT Policy prohibits. If you can do it, the policy has been successfully removed.

If you have OS 7.1.0.402, first get rid of that and delete all the files came with the .402 from your computer first. Then you can try again with a different OS. I am also worried about this now because I am stuck with the IT Policy as well.

Large corporations usually maintain their own servers and email message systems and secure it from non-authorized users.

The only way to gain access is through their BES connection.

In order to maintain security, certain features of the BlackBerry will be disabled by use of an IT Policy. Frequently, the policy will prevent the installation on non-supported applications and enforce policies like requiring the user top make regular pass word changes.

The concern is, a malicious program might be installed and threaten the security of the data on the corporate servers.

Later in life, these BlackBerry may be cycled out of service and resold. That is when a new owner may encounter a restrictive policy and want it removed. The original owner never would, doing so would risk the security of the corporate data and be grounds for dismissal.

In practice, there are some poorly created BIS applications that can inadvertently install a policy. These are fair game and the reason we need to know this information.
If, let's say after removing IT policy from your blackberry, would the IT guy from the company, detect that you removed the IT policy?
This BlackBerry Bold 9000 was given to me by my mom, came from her company, and she said she doesn't want to ask their IT because she said they were to strict, since its a company phone, but I'm the one whose suffering. I can't use mg BIS service properly, specially the GPS locator of the blackberry.
Help? Please! I'm desperate on removing that annoying red padlock and have my Blackberry able to detect satellites for gps.

The IT people will detect that you removed the IT policy if and only if you attempt to log on to the corporate accounts. As long as you don't do that, they won't know or care what you do. While it is possible to disable the GPS via an IT policy, I'd be surprised if they had done it. You may find that removing the IT policy does not solve your problem.

In the most restrictive IT environments no email account other than the corporate account can be added.
Only way to access email would be through the browser and therefore it would not push.

I found that my Bold 9900 has the IT Policy enabled. I can't use email or BBM over WiFi if i have my Network Off... it said that i have to be conected to my carrier network so i can use them. The question is. If i Remove the IT Policy from my Bold does this will let me use Email and BBM over WiFi? I also try to remove it with CrackUtil. All the process worked fine but it still said IT policy enabled on my phone status

Thanks, this really works. I am a complete novice, but managed to remove the IT policy from my old work blackberry so I can use it for Personal use. I had alot of problems with the CrackUtl saying my password wasn't accepted or the BB wasn't connected. I played around downloading the CrackUtl to my desktop, restarted the computer and tried various combinations of Administrator/non administrator as detailed in the posts above. Eventually after 2 hours of trying got it to work. good job!

I fund this BB 9000 it is blocked with a PW How can I unblocked?

Well before anyone else mentions it, you should try and find the rightful owner. That being said, enter the PW incorrectly 10 times and the device will wipe. Once it finishes wiping you may need to remove the IT policy using the aforementioned process or you may be left with a working phone.

Excellent solution, short and sweet. It did Security Wipe, removed IT Policy, and restated the device to factory default installation much faster than the Security Wipe I performed on the device. Thanks.

Not sure why but when I run the CrackUtil program, it asks me for the password, I enter it, and it sais the code is incorrect or my phone isn't connected to the computer properly. It then closes when I close the box. I will try on another pc where Desktop Manager is. Thanks.

Hello! I got a 9900 and when I tried to set up my personal email accounts, it only says "enterprise activation". Restored to factory settings, wiped the phone, BBSAK-ed it, to no avail. It's a shame, since the phone is in mint condition. What else can I do to be able to set it up for my personal use? Can't even set BBM: when I put in my BB ID I thought it would automatically connect to my BBM settings, contacts, groups, etc. My BIS plan is active (I asked my provider). Really don't know how to make it work as my own.

    Here are some suggestions.

KB14202-How to remove an IT policy from a BlackBerry smartphone

Your device may not be registered.

    http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/b...ListHelperImpl

If the device is registered, it may be not be provisioned correctly in the BPSA, your carriers BlackBerry tech support has access to this.

Hi all, I have a used BB Bold 9700 , with OS5.0 package 111, with a BES, use Vista on my laptop and have tried to remove the IT policy unsuccessfully.
I followed the advice, installed CrackUtil but no result, as the initial trhead was back in 2008, i wonder if there has been any new developments or possibly someone who has another way of solving, or even better solved this IT/BES problem?
