Really basic question

Hi there,

Sorry for the somewhat silly question but I'm new to the BB OS. I recently got myself a 9900 and I'm loving it.

However I have one issue. When I first sync'd my g-mail account, it only sync'd e-mails I received that day and after. It doesn't sync my e-mails that I had in my inbox before I activated my phone. Is there an option to do this and I'm just missing it?
