If I have 5.0.0.593 already installed on my phone, do I still need to wipe it and reinstall it and then Run the hybrid.exe? or can I just install the Run the hybrid.exe?

You can just run the hybrid.exe but youre gonna have to reinstall everything onto your phone

Well .593 is all I see in my Alt + Shift + H

I don;t see the .6xx versioning.

I found the problem. The default install path is to C:\Program Files\...etc

I use Windows 7 64bit so the path is C:\Program Files (x86)\....etc

I inserted the (x86) portion in the installer path.

Hope you can remedy this PC.

Hope your hybrid is worth the effort I put into figuring out why I have been loading default .593 wondering what the **** I did wrong.

The only thing I've noticed: everything on the call screen is huge. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but I just thought I'd let you know, PC.

PwnCakes193: Thanks for taking the time in making some of the nicest hybrids for the 9700. I've been using your hybrids from version 1.0.


V4.0 Bug: If you have the browser (RIM Browser or Opera Mini) loaded into memory and you go to the camera application, the menus will move at warp sweet. The switching apps feature also moves at warp speed. The only way I found to counteract this is to exit out of the browser *before* starting up the camera app.

I am able to replicate this 100% reliably.

Very nice work PC! Although I just loaded it about an hour ago, I like what I'm seeing!

Anyone else have the black screen problem? (during the carrier logo screen, the screen goes black - you need to press a button to turn it on again...?)

I cannot replicate that bug at all. It's the same as .545, .586, and .593 for me.

KGR- I also cannot get that bug. Can anybody else comment on these bugs and see if theyre having these issues?

Okay so I installed the hybrid and I'm liking it a lot. I did have the warp speed camera menu issue but its not a big deal.

Some questions:
1. What is the total size for the OS that loads on?
2. Those of you who have bolt, no more bolt crashing issues?

I haven't had an issue with Bolt since 2.0. The OS size I couldn't tell you, I hand shrunk it before I installed the badbooty.

I seem to have a problem loading this. I install a .593 to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\Shared\Loader Files\9700EastAsia_v5.0.0.593_P5.1.0.147

the "hybrid" download (93MB) installs to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\Shared\Loader Files\9700AllLang_v5.0.0.593_P5.1.0.147

Different folders. Is this what is supposed to happen? Then when I install an OS I only get the .593 on my device.

This is the first time I've tried to install a hybrid (though I've upgraded my OS many times). Am I doing something wrong?

For the people having the camera issue, did you wipe prior to installing or not?

Also to have it install into the right folder, just change to where the hybrid installs to 9700EastAsia_v5.0.0.593_P5.1.0.147

when i click reviews on blackberry app world, i get an error.

The reviews should work, if you turn off WiFi. Hate that bloody App World though. Almost never have it installed.

Yah, no issues on this end as well. Also using Bolt 2.02 as I type with no problem. I always shrink mine prior to installing as the norm as well.


As far as its the hybrid worth it?

Works for me.
