I installed the leaked version and everything is great so far except that my videos are recording with no audio. Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply but thats not the issue. The issue isn't that sound doesn't play on my pc. The problem is there is NO SOUND on the videos anymore. I played videos on my Tour recorded on prior to the 5.0.0.230 install and they have sound and play just as they used to. However, I just recorded 10 different videos to test this out now that I've upgraded and none of them contain audio. You can completely rule out a PC from this discussion since this is just recording on the phone and playing back on the phone.

    Any other ideas?

jessenj I had the same issue. Try craking the volume and I bet you will hear the audio just a tiny bit. I went back down to .53 and the audio is crisp and clear.

So I think its a softtware problem.

I'm guessing this is why RIM "leaks" OS's.

jessenj : does this 'Try craking the volume and I bet you will hear the audio just a tiny bit.' work for you?

Nope - I spoke directly into the mic and tried playing it back by putting the speaker in my ear with the volume at max and all I hear is a faint white noise

Audio works fine for me when recording videos but, as others have mentioned, the audio tends to play back at a low volume

Still no answer to this. Does anyone know how to reset the video recorder app? Now that there is an official 5.0 release, I'm considering dumping the Hybrid and doing a wipe and load of the official. Any thoughts?

I don't want to let this thread die because I'm still stuck without a working video camera. There is still no sound in the videos I record, and I am really getting frustrated cause my wife and I just welcomed my son into this world 3 weeks ago and not having the ability to snap a quick video when I'm out and about is really pissing me off. Any know anything that might fix this? I'm basically getting desperate at this point.

Have you thought about giving 5.0.0.419 a try? It's officially available from MTS Mobility.

I'd suggest giving the RIM official OS 5 a try. (obviously, not official for all carriers but still RIM's blessing).

If that does not work, have you tried going back to an official 4.7 OS? Just as a test, in any event - does the video work back there?

Oh, since this has been moved - you do have a Tour? Your CrackB profile shows another model.

I did the MTS official release and it is still the same. I even tried using BBSAK to remove the videorecorder cod so that it would be forced to put it on new.

Strange. Video recording worked fine for me on .230 and all .230 based hybrids. Same with .419 and .419 hybrids, all is well. Maybe the SD card is the culprit. Do you have a known working one that you could try? If that still doesn't solve your issue I would suggest loading the latest official OS for your carrier and trying out the video recorder. If none of the above work then I would have to say it's a hardware issue of some kind and I would get it replaced if possible.

EDIT: Nevermind the SD card thing. I was thinking videos weren't recording at all.
