    Hi peeps,

    Struggling with this error message: "The blackberry desktop software does not have blackberry device software for the device..."

    This comes up with the Application Loader when trying to install BBOS 7.1 on my 9810. Does anyone know how to resolve this matter? Spent days trying to get this sorted. Yes, I've deleted all copies of vendor.xml. Please see screenshot.

    Your help would be appreciated.

    I've already downloaded the 7.1 OS. I'm trying to install 7.1 onto my 7.0 phone.

    The question is, what step do I need to take to make the App Loader work?

    Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling.

    Do a search with Windows Explorer to find all of the vendor.xml files. Sometimes there are two.

    Done that multiple times, hehe.

    Yep, deleted both, again, multiple times. Even used the vendor.xml delete tool which finds and deletes all vendor.xml files.

    Stumped.

    Solved it eventually. I needed to have originally installed the 7.0 software on the PC, before being able to upgrade to 7.1

    Yup, that's right. I just did the same and now my bold has become super cool! I followed shushwaps guide and installed the O2 UK version on my bold. Couldn't be happier. It's super stable and has increased my battery life to a new level.
