In light of todays news & in our attempt to put a *bbmsmiley* face on the whole lot of you, at least the 9930 users out there, OpenSourceBB brings you its latest hybrid creation! After a week of testing & even more testing (fickle hotspot battery raping issue) ive prepared a mix that consists of a couple base cods, several .428 cods & a plethora of .523!!

As usual, extract this zip into your base directory [9930AllLang_v7.1.0.402_P5.1.0.321] & have it overwrite everything AFTER backing up the folder for piece of mind. This was thoroughly tested using the .402′s radio. If you choose to use another radio; consider yourself a beta tester & be sure to report back what your results are. As always, if you have any questions please refer to HERE.

FYI: The About & Help Me screens will both read 7.1.0.523

    CLIQEUA AQUI to download.

Battery life has indeed improved as well as all phone functions. There is no added improvement for 9900 users to load this hybrid as it will basically be the same as reloading the latest 7.1.0.523 leak. The only benefit, which can be downloaded separately elsewhere, is that 'Device Analyzer' has been downgraded to 1.1.0.37 in order for it to work properly.

Downloading and installing it now. I can't wait to try out the resource manager. From what I've heard, it seems like it's very useful

--- Been running this for a few days now and seems to be pretty stable. battery seems to be dropping around 4% per hour which isnt too shabby. Think i'll be keeping this on till our lucky leak comes.

Have had this hybrid installed for a few days now now it does seem that battery life is significantly improved, coming from the previous 402 build which gave me excellent battery life. A few bugs still exist (like the wallpaper bug), but everything else seems ok. Great quality from the OSBB folks again!

Just loaded this today and gained some MBs in memory which is FINE by me!
Too early to tell about battery life, but the hourglassing of 355 has stopped and I like the device analyzer.

    Thanks OSBB!!!!!

Loaded and running well for about a week now. Any chance of 536 files being added.

    Thanks.

I will let the OSBB team speak to the 536 files but it seems they are identical to the 523 files .. other than time stamp most of the files were the same size, and only 4 days apart highly unlikely that we would have anything speical Will let the OSBB hybrid team talk to the 536 files

Here are a couple of threads worth a read BEFORE you install a hybrid:

Don't forget to do a full backup with BB Desktop Manager before you do anything.

Anyone having intermittent locking problems? The hourglass comes up, freezes and then I have to pull the batt? And when it comes back, I am missing bbms and get old sms messages again. It's probably just my device and all my Bellshare apps. They are gonna be the death of me I swear! OK, just checking...

Thanks chaos. I assume its all the apps and themes I load up on my phone. Just was wondering if anyone else has had any freezing probs. I deleted BerryMail today and the freezing seems to be better? Although I don't think its gone completely...

Well if anyone is having problems please post for the OSBB team folks to address but RRoYY also put up a hybrid for the 9900 9930 device with pure 536 files and 8 523 files. His post is in Hybrid section as well, I took that work of his and swapped out all of the 536 files with 569 files. Maybe either one of those hybrids can work better for you

I am on a 9930. It looks like rroyy's is for the 9900. Can you point me to another hybrid with a link, please?

Jaydee The 9900 and 9930 devices are pretty much the same, Take RROYY post for the 9900 but instead of installing it on 523 just put the Java folder into the 402 9930 . That will give the 536 523 hybrid, if you look in the hybrid section, they put up a 9900 569 536 523 hybrid which will also install over 402 .

    9930/7.1.0.569 (B1716)

A FJ swap minus a couple files does indeed work. Without a new radio for the 9930, there's not much more that can be done imho. Battery life & function are about the same. I've yet to notice any improvement thus far. As always OSBB will continue to tinker though..
