It's been a while since a new OS6 hybrid has been released; but since the initial reports of of 7.1.0.580 have all been positive, and since the 9650 I've been using has really bogged down after running the same OS for nearly 3 months, I went ahead and whipped up a new build.

This build should work on 6.0.0.707, 6.0.0.706, or 6.0.0.723.

This build contains mostly 7.1.0.580 and 6.0.0.723 .cods, with a smattering of other .cods to make things work. It's downloadable in several varieties:

    1. You can download a BBSAK extraction of all the changed .cods which I had installed on my 9650. This is the optimal download option, as it is only a 50mb or so file. If you choose to do this, I also recommend you download a modified net_rim_bis_client.alx file.

    2. If you would like to download the full OS folder, including the .sfi file for OS 6.0.0.707, you can download it in a .zip; this download is over 300mb.

You can download these files from one of three places:

First, you can get them from FileFactory, a file hosting site. Download speeds are slow from there, but creating a free account speeds it up. Ot you can download them from either SCrApps.org or from hybrids.tk. The full 707v3 is not available from SCrApps.org to conserve bandwidth.

OSBB 707v3 .cods only: File Factory, SCrApps.org or hybrids.tk.

OSBB 707v3 full java folder: File Factory or hybrids.tk.

    net_rim_bis_client.alx: hybrids.tk or SCrApps.org.

    Installation:

Download whichever .zip you would prefer and unzip it to your desktop.
If you downloaded the full version, delete everything out of your OS folder (unless you'd like to use an .sfi other than the one from 6.0.0.707) and place the unzipped .alx files, Java folder, and CDMA folder into the OS folder.
If you downloaded the .cod only file, place the .cods into the Java folder and put the modified net_rim_bis_client.alx into your OS folder.

This hybrid loaded just perfectly on my 9650, but I do not have any other BlackBerry to test it on. If you have any troubles with it, I recommend trying the loader wipe method which is described in detail here.

And of course, as always, backup everything before you try to load this. OSBB and I take no responsibility for any problems you have as a result of loading any hybrid.

Anyone tried this on a 9700? Because 9700 has lower memory in comparison to OP's 9650.

I'm having difficulties getting both the zip files to completely download. I've attempted all links and have tried using Chrome and IE 9. Also the link for the alx file is sending me to what looks like a programming page. It never gives me the option to download the file. Am I doing something wrong this go round?

My sister has a Style 9670 phone running the base 707 OS. She is also complaining that it is running slow & wants a hybrid put on. What modifications would I need to make in order to install this hybrid? I've installed MANY of your hybrids, but it was for the 9650. Are there any particular files (whether alx and/or java cods) that I must leave alone, is there a patch of some sort that is needed, etc.? Also, which zip would you recommend that I use (I want the most "potent" build)?

    What is it?

If anyone wants to try this before it's released to App World, you can download it from http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9610464/temp/LensCalculator.bar for sideloading.
It requires web access because the resources the app uses are on barco's site.

Ok, I loaded this and can confirm it works perfectly for me on BB 9650.
    Thanks Scrid2000.

However, after a few hours, i tried to inject the bis alx file with BBSAK/BBHT and finally ended up re-installing/overwriting the bis cods mentioned in the alx and my BB 9650 started a reboot loop.

Then I re-installed the OS afresh and then Restored my last backup, but then Enterprise activation was lost.

Have asked IT guys to reactivate it, but just want to know if a 'Backup' should restore the Enterprise Activation ?

Or any other way to backup the enterprise activation so that i don't need to contact IT ?

I have had the opposite; 719 was far worse for me than 706 or 707.

Installed on my 9670. Everything is nice and snappy, except that I have noticed that when I receive a new message and click on the notification bar to bring down the notification list, it takes several seconds to do so. It only does this upon power-on for the first click to see my to-do list, or when I receive a new notification. After I've clicked it once, it seems to be better for subsequent clicks until the next notification comes in.

Any specific .cod to change for this function?

    This installed over OS 707

    Thanks!
