The BIS issue of additional price affected some. In Canada BIS plans were actually cheaper in some cases and full BlackBerry data services were the same price as regular smartphones (as a matter of fact sometimes they were exactly the same except the BlackBerry plans had 1x RIM Provisioning).

In Mexico, BIS plans have always been more expensive than those data plans for the iPhone / Android, and it's the same case in some South America countries.

I sincerely hope that the OS7 will help with the stopgap measures in the corporate environment, until BES12, and newer Q devices show up. Unfortunately, this may not be enough to change the consumer portion of the BlackBerry business. Consumers left BlackBerry, in my opinion, because BlackBerry over promised and under delivered. They had a superiority complex, and just did not listen to what the consumer wanted. Unfortunately, as well, they did not have the visionary person, like Steve Jobs, who could successfully tell the masses what they needed. I personally like BB10 much better than IOS, or Android. I am, however, very much in the minority.

By calling it a "stop gap" you might actually be putting potential customers off, people will not buy a product with no future.

Nokia still sells cheap phones that don't run WP8, so can BB.

So you want them to lie and say they are going to continue to make OS7 phones and improve and update them?

why couldn't they just continue to support them, even if they don't push out anymore major platform improvements or OS updates ?

That's a sure way to loose those remaining legacy users without a viable bb10 replacement for them.

No but I have never seen a Z10 either. We both know it isn't out yet. Do you think once released it will be enough? Or will it have to have every last OS7 option and setting and run over BIS?

Your guess is as good as mine, but don't underestimate BB's ability to screw up.
