"What did I say?!?" Lol, I anticipate "way of the future" banality from you. The good thing is I get to continue to enjoy BBOS and BIS because BBRY has decided in favor of it. You're just here all bent and grumbling about it.

Wow. Relax, people. This does not represent a new (old) direction for BlackBerry. They're just keeping the Bold 9900 series around longer. Apparently there is enough of a demand, still, to justify it. If their BB10 devices were more popular that would be one thing, but the 9900 has done well for them and if enough people still want them, why not continue to meet that demand?

Since BlackBerry never reported that they had stopped production of the 9900, they could just have resumed production and no one would have been the wiser. The big deal here is that the agreement has been reached so that BB will not lose money on their sales. There are no line ups. The 9900 will not be rediscovered. This production run just serves enterprise users as a stop gap until they move to BYOD or BB10.

I doubt they're spending jack on BlackBerry OS. All they're doing is a cost effective run of existing hardware running an existing OS.

If it does not cost BlackBerry a thing then I'm all for it. If it brings them over to Bb10

I'll ask nicely. Please don't tell us any more about Blackberry's impending doom. It's getting boring.

It's not. (Though I do believe you wish it were an issue.)

I'm not calling for an end to BB10 -- I want you to have that -- but you're calling for an end to BBOS, and that's a symptom of maladjustment.

It's not something to get all dramatic about by going militant on a forum calling for an os to get killed off. BlackBerry's impending doom has been exaggerated for years.

I went and paid Sprint today ... So pleased that a portion of what I paid went to BlackBerry (and does month after month). How many BB10 users who, on forums, are militantly calling for the end of BBOS (for BlackBerry's own good of course ) paid BlackBerry today?

A sudden end to BBOS would kill BlackBerry... they need to milk it out until they got a transition product like the Q20 ready. and a alternative to BIS.

Chances are that if BBRY manages to upgrade the hardware at all rather than just clone the 9900 I will be picking me up one because BBOS served me so well and I loved it. If it's just another 9900, Q20.

Geez who cares. For all of you pining for BB's survival but complaining that they are doing this what is your reasoning? Pride? Mad because people aren't buying BB10? If BB needs BBOS to survive then I say more power to them and do whatever it takes to stay in the game. You don't have to buy it so what do you care?
