No no, this isn't right. I also have one person showing up in bold. However nobody else is showing up in bold. There has to be something else. Does anyone have any ideas?
The contact showing in bold on mine is not listed on my BBM. They are just a regular contact. And other contacts that have the same (without BBM) are not showing up in bold. There is nothing I have that is unique to this contact.
Yes, I do have OS 5.0.0.230 that was sent to developers. So does anyone else have this OS and have seen this. Also, it is showing up bold as a sent message and I did not set any priority. There is also no priority option in the contact profile
Bold text messages mean that for some reason your phone has previous messages from that contact that it thinks are unread. The fix I found is to go the latest date under your SMS box and use the "Mark Prior Opened" button to reset all your messages to "read", so the bold should disappear.
when i was running .230 (a few hrs ago, just wiped and reloaded .61 cause there was an issue) i noticed all my contacts in sms were bold too...none being a linked bbm contact.
in the OS 5 .230, it puts all the SMS for one contact under their name. The one person who only has 2 messages under them is still bold even though I "marked previous read" for ALL SMS. Every other contact is still in regular font. In regards to BBM, no contacts there are in bold.
Strangely the contact in bold is my mother. Perhaps OS 5 has a feature to make your mother's SMS stand out more?? If nothing else, that would just be amusing.
When I had my Tour running .230 my text message threads also appeared in bold (even after they were read). I actually loved the fact that text message threads stood out.
Now that I have my Bold 9700 the text msg threads don't appear in bold anymore, which makes it a pain distinguishing them from all other emails, etc... New Bold is running .344. Hopefully the next release will give me the bolded text msg threads.
